Last night. Things are looking up. I was out at daylight and the deer were frolicking and running around. Ytd evening I could hear the wood ducks in the cypress head behind my house. Waters high and the grass is green here on the ranch. Looks like it’s going to be a good hunting season in spite of COVID.

Now if Trump wins the election all will be well. How’s things in your neck of the woods?

we got hit with snow and cold about a week ago. Snows still here as it never warmed up but is suppose to tomorrow. But this time of year winter can come and stay any day. Usually holds off for a couple more weeks though. Weve got 3 covid cases in the family right now so camp will probably stay empty this year. Sucks because we just built a new camp. Ill be hunting out of my house.

I can sit by my pool and watch both of the house feeders. So a lot of times I kill deer siting in a lounge chair.

Last fall I could see 5 does coming in to the west feeder about 50 yards from my house fence. I handed my grandson a loaded AR15 and told him to sit down in the chair I had positioned next to the corner post of my fence. I turned to walk back to the house and didn’t quite make it to the screen door when I heard him shoot. He shot the largest doe right in the heart. She didn’t make it out of sight.
