Which Revolver ?
« on: March 01, 2004, 12:06:56 AM »
I have a friend that wants to start using a hand gun for deer hunting here in IL ,he got the bug from me while I was sighting in a new scope on my 454 encore . He shot mine several times but wants something with less recoil and does not want a single shot. The only expereance I have with hunting pistols is with single shot so I am looking for some choices to consider. Most hunting will be from treestands out to 50yrds but maybe the occasional 100 yrd shot he would also like to scope it. All suggestions would be appreciated. Kurt

I would have to agree with Lloyd Smale. The Super blackhawk or Redhawk would be a great choice. I would not go lower than the 44MAG.

if he wants less recoil then check out what people who are reloading  in there 44's with.the only 44 i would buy would be the ruger in the super redhawk or in the blackhawk. i like the ruger 45lc in the blackhawk it will do the job on any deer with a whole lot less recoil then the 44. the 44 and the 45lc will get it done.just my 2 cents
