Ive had a bunch but out of all the bunch. I think my Taurus Tracker has been the best, got the 22mag cylinder in it right now. We had a pesky coyote coming around trying to get into the yard.

I keep looking at that one, but have yet to pull the trigger ... but I can totally see that being the next best 22 for me!

Right now its a toss up between a Ruger MkII678GT and a CZ Kadet 2. But I'm drifting away from semi autos, so revolvers are getting more attention.

My Browning Buckmark is the only 22 pistol I've actually owned. Have shot a dozen or more over the years, but this Buckmark is my favorite.

The Tracker is a good gun, it's taken out its share of rattlesnakes. We keep it in a kitchen drawer in 22mag just in case. Looks like a mini Colt Python.  Great finish and smooth action.

I had a 929 I bought new, but
it was stolen and never recovered.
The 999 was bought in nearly new
condition, but was stolen, and later
found. It was in a zippered case and
had been wet for a long time apparently,
because it's heavily pitted on the
exterior to the point that refinishing
would be impossible. Very usable, but
sad and ugly

Sure would like to have my NAA
22 mag back,  but the detective
at DPD gave me the " probably
in mexico by now " speech which
translates into you can forget
about ever seeing that again bub.

If I had to start over, I'd probably go
with a Buckmark. My bil has one,
and it's a shooting machine .
Didn't cost him that much either.
I think they're a good bit higher now
like everything else.
I'd likely have bought one if they'd
existed back when I was buying
most of my guns.

I got my Buckmark from Linda years ago for Christmas. It has been 100% reliable for over 2 decades, super accurate, and an outstanding trigger.

Of all the pistols I have/had I have never had a .22, period, makes feel bad but the ones I would like to have are now getting more and more expensive.
Thirty plus years ago, my doofus cousin had a very, very good High Standard target .22, just one grade below the extremely high buck professional target models.

He traded it in on a shotgun.
It was a 500 dollar gun back when that was a LOT of money for a .22.
It shot very, very well and was just nice to look at as it had a true high polish blued finish with truly nice stocks.

Well he is now at least two shot guns past the 1100 but has pretty much quit hunting.
When it came to firearms he was not good at not losing money and I have no idea why he bought other firearms, the kind you have just to own and/or shoot at targets and sold them , at a loss, rather than keep them and sell at, at least near a break even point down the road.

When gun prices would drop he would sell saying: If I don't sell now I will lose more money.
He had a Thompson semi-auto tommy gun, and a Dan Wesson .45 Colt he lost his butt on because he has no idea with firearms patience is very often a virtue.
He does regret selling the High Standard and Dan Wesson.

I have one of those and they are nice plus they are accurate. I have a bunch of 22 handguns and like every one of them but if I had to pick one I would list my old three screw single six as my favorite of them all. I only have one revolver with a 22 mag cylinder and I placed the cylinder in the safe when I purchased the gun and there it sits unused. I just have no need for a 22 mag, especially in a handgun.

Ive had a lot of guns I either sold or traded in, and now wish I still had them. A Belgian Browning high power with the adjustable Mauser sites is one of them. I read an article about those, it said that gun was a favorite among the Nazi SS troops. They liked it over the P38.  As far as 22's, I'm good with what I now have.

Yeah mine is very accurate with a great trigger.

I've owned ,traded, and sold many 22 handguns over the years. Right now my favorite and most accurate (For me) is my Taurus TX22. A 200.00 gun that shoots as accurate as any high end 22 I've owned. The trigger is fantastic, 16 round capacity mag, and a full size gun. Taurus came to life with this handgun.

My old favorite was a High Standard Sentinel Mk-IV
If its semi-auto? My new favorite is the Taurus TX-22
My old favorite is High Standard Sportking.

The thing is I have shot (owned some and tried others) other brands like the Browning Buckmark, Colt Cadet, Ruger's (revolvers and semi's)
Calico, Cobray, Heritage, FIE, Chiappa, Bersa, Charter Arms, Davis, and some obscure stuff.

I could have higher quality more expensive firearms, but in the harsh environment I operate in toteing a $2k rimfire out in the boonies seems kinda crazy.

I have found this thread to be very interesting.
I did not know the Brownng Buckmark did not come out until 1985, I though it was as old as the Victor, , S&W M41 and Colt Woodsman.

Having taken apart a Woodsman, I would not want to do it again.
The Victor is easy to take apart and put together.
If, IF, I would get a .22 pistol having checked on line the Rock Island XT .22 Magnum and of course the High Standard Victor are the ones I might shell out  some bucks for though the choices now are a lot bigger than they were 30 years ago.

I just checked the price for a new S&W M41, only for those with a lot of money burning a hole in their pocket; you can get a Wather GSP, or Hammerli SP20 RRS for less for the former or not much more for the latter and these are dedicated target pistols.

My best .22 was a High Standard Victor made in Hamden, CT in 1973. Great trigger and gloriously accurate

Mine is a Hi-Standard Supermatic Citation with barrel weights.  Most accurate pistol I ever fired with an array of ammo and the smoothest trigger you could image.  It is a true target pistol but has killed a lot of other stuff besides paper targets.  Traded for it 40 plus years ago and it has a permanent home although I have a grandson that has a close eye on it.

The most accurate pistol I have ever owned is my Ruger MK1 bull barrel, purchased new in 1977, the same year my oldest daughter was born, still have it but do not shoot it much, although not as accurate but my favorite to shoot is my 6.5" Ruger stainless single six.

I have two, both Rugers. MK II target and Single Six with standard and mag cylinders. Both shoot well.
