Got the basal cell carcinoma cut out today, at the VA hospital in Buffalo..100 mile round trip. The 50 return miles were a bit worse than the first 50.
The shots were nasty..on the right side of the neck, down close to the shoulder. Stitches pulled quite hard..as if the Doc were sewing leather.
I was scheduled to have the surgery at 12:45 PM, but got a call earlier in the week to show at 09:30 this morning..no problem, but I wondered...
My surgeon was a youngish Doc (maybe 35?). Found in conversation, while he was working on me, that he has a deer camp out nearer where I live, and was anxious to finish the season there.
He did harvest a piebald doe earlier..showed me a photo.
Stitches he put in will dissolve, no bandage needed...just glue. Don't shower on the glue, or mess with with it, and it will fall off as needed.
Two nurses and the Doc..all nice folks, and that includes the cheerful, little black receptionist for the department, she was fun too! Brightened an otherwise, dismal situation.
