Ammo gone again
« on: December 18, 2020, 04:10:17 AM »
Every time I go into my local Bi-Mart or Walmart store, I look for some 22  ammo. It doesn't exist. Along with, any center fire ammo. No handgun or rifle ammo. Well! I did see 3 boxes of .117. Also there is zero small and large primers, and very little powder. The only thing on the shelves were shotgun shells. After all, our new (I guess) President said a shotgun was all any American needed anyway. I guess the retailers and Ammo makers are heading his words.

Not much in the way of firearms either.

Not at Walmart, but our local Bi-mart has lots of guns, just nothing to shoot in them.

There's a lot of ammo spread around our nation now, not being expended ... in other countries that entered a season of socialist tyranny, the black market boomed. Perhaps you'll be able to trade a box of 22lr for a couple hits of hydroxychoroquine, since both will be illegal soon.

Bartering, we are already seeing that.

Walmart doesn't sell handgun ammo anymore since they decided to get into bed with Michael Bloomberg.

Talked to the Walmart guy that works in sporting goods about this very topic the other day.
There's no limit per customer at our local Walmart, so when a thousand or so  rounds of 22 ammo comes in, a customer will buy it all.

Here, they are rationing it. The problem is the small amount coming in. I think it's all about price gouging. They create a shortage, then always raise the prices when it returns to normal amounts.

You could be right, but everybody seems to be scrambling to stockpile their very own pile of ammo.

Do any of you boys have dedicated firearms or hunting sporting goods stores; small independent not chain?
That is where I generally would go when I would look for ammunition.

Question the people that offer
$30.00 bricks of 22 for $80.00
and the people that line up to
pay that. There's where your
problem is.
I would suggest to all that if the
grand mess ever does get straightened
out any, everyone that intends to
have firearms should buy as much
ammunition or components that
they can and not squander the whole
thing. I'll relate one- I know of several
that blow off every round of ammo
that they can get ahold of. One
magazine dump after another etc.
They know I shoot and hunt so it's
"Where can I find some XYZ ammo?"
Well didn't you and so-and-so go
together and buy a bunch a while
back? " Well.  . . . . . yeah.  . " Well
what happened to all that?
" I shot all mine up.  . . "  You didn't
save at least a box or enough for
a couple of magazine's worth?
"Well.  . . . . . . . no. I shot it all . . "

What do you say to somebody like that?
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

I know of a few more that didn't
even have any of their proven ammo
to deer hunt with this year and
had to scramble to find 3 or 4
rounds to use to hunt with
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

I saw 9mm in my favorite gun store for nearly $50.00 for a box of 20 rounds.

Yeah,  and there'll be dozens that crawl
all over each other to pay that.

Looking at Gunbroker, 30-06 hunting round are selling for an average of between .75- 1.25 per round,  now if some one goes I am not going to pay that much and next year it goes higher, they may make their own misery.
With Liberal Dem. taking power, I would buy now and just go about my business.

LOL, given the finality of recent events, one might consider buying any ammo available. Whether they have a gun for it or not.

Yea! Keep it for bartering. You guys notice that when ammo becomes non existent, that reloading stuff also is absent.
I haven't seen any small pistol primers for sometime now. Also out of stock online at the big dealers sites. It will return, and when it does, expect to pay double for it.

What ya got to trade for a case of small pistol primers? I stocked up on plenty of primers during the Clinton era primer scare.

You can't ship primers and don't live close enough to each other to trade face to face.

Anyone who didn't stock up on ammo or components missed the boat... It's happened several times now, so should have learned by now.

You can ship ammo via UPS or Fedex but you can't ship primers or powder.

Go online and read what is required to do it, you have to pass instructions and get govt. permission similar to getting a firearms license..
Fine if you are going to do it often , other wise you do it and get caught, you will not like the out come.

True, but it requires special shipping procedures to meet HAZMAT requirements.
