The homeless and the hungry among us.

There have been stories on the news showing the hungry and homeless folks, including entire families getting help with hot food, coats, blankets, and toys for the kids.
Don't worry if you missed seeing them, they'll be back for Easter.  Miss em again?? They will be front and center on the TV news again at Thanksgiving getting fed hot meals again, old folks, young ones, whole families. Eating, drinking smiling.
The Bible tells us that the poor will always be with us, 365 days a year NOT just 3 X a year. Not all are drunks or winos. Pray for those less fortunate, help if you can. CHARLIE.

There are plenty of unfortunates
that honestly and dearly need assistance.
There are also many that don't really
and truly need any help and are just
trying to get their "piece of the pie "
We have a lot of those in this area
that want to lay around and get drunk
and/or high. I wouldn't know any
other way to weed those parasites
out other than mandatory drug and
alcohol testing for those receiving
benefits from public funds. Failing
the test should disqualify that person
from receiving any benefits for life.
Those types have made it very hard
for the truly needy to get the help
they deserve. The means to help is
already there, but because of those
that work the system, the truly needy
too often can't get help

I've been hit up by the needy that say their hungry many times, but when I offer to buy them food, they insist on cash.
I don't pass out money I ain't an atm. They usually stomp of cussing me. Rare occasions they take the meal.
Nothing more disgusting than a 30 year old going down the street  on a skate board.

with all the entitlement programs in this country and all the churches that will gladly feed the hungry the only ones i could possibly feel sorry for when theres help wanted signs in every business in this town are the mentaly disabled on the street that cant spell welfare. Im with dee. Our church had a separated fund to feed the local poor. We donated every year. They could come and see the priest and he would give them a 100 bucks to buy food. That fund was constantly drained and he was always asking for more donations. Someone suggested instead that we looked to the stores for food donation and in turn used that money at those participating stores to actually buy food and make up food boxes. Talked to our priest a few months later and he told me he was thinking of stopping the program because he had boxes of food stacked up in the basement and there wasnt a 1/10 of the people comming for food as there was comming for money. No doubt what we were doing is buying them a box of beer and a carton of cigarettes. You find someone actually starving in this country (good luck with that) just send them to my house and ill gladly feed them and there family. If theres actually someone in your town that cant find ANY job, cant qualify for welfare or food stamps that is starving shame on you. But like i said good luck finding them. If you do mental help will be more appropriate then giving them some money.

It’s kinda like our school system, they Finally broke down and started offering breakfast to every kid.
And during this covid thing the school busses deliver breakfast to their homes.
