pepper loads
« on: March 02, 2004, 10:22:34 AM »
I was playing around today with my 410 loader and got an idea.
I loaded the shells like i normally do but in place of the shot I used ground chili powder.

When I tested this load i found out:
1) it was somewhat quiet and not enough to alert the neighbors
2) I could see a nice dark red spray of pepper for about 10 feet from the muzzle.
3) when I walked over to the target I could smell the chili powder so after the 10 feet it was dispersed into a very fine pattern.
4) I did find traces of the chili powder still in the barrel so it needs to be cleaned out well after firing.

This should work real well if you want to get rid of stray animals around your house without doing them any real harm
