“The traffic just keeps growing," CEO Andrew Torba says

Gab, a more conservative-friendly alternative social media platform to Twitter, claimed Saturday it is gaining 10,000 users an hour in the wake of Twitter permanently suspending President Trump’s account.

Trump has also been blocked from posting on Facebook and Instagram -- at least until his term ends.

“The traffic just keeps growing hang tight, even more servers on the way today,” Gab CEO Andrew Torba wrote on the site Saturday.

Trump and several prominent supporters like Gen. Michael Flynn and attorney Sidney Powell were also banned from Twitter following the deadly pro-Trump riot at the U.S. Capitol Wednesday.

APPLE AND GOOGLE SUSPEND PARLER FROM THEIR APP STORES

Torba tweeted late Saturday the site had 18 million visits Saturday and 500,000 new users.

Gab, which launched a few years ago, calls itself a "social network that champions free speech, individual liberty and the new free flow of information online.”

TWITTER SHARES DOWN NEARLY 4% IN AFTER HOURS TRADING FOLLOWING TRUMP BAN

Conservatives have long complained that big tech companies censor their viewpoints in favor of liberals, a sentiment that was accelerated by Trump’s suspension.

"Free Speech Is Under Attack! Censorship is happening like NEVER before! Don’t let them silence us," Donald Trump Jr tweeted Saturday.

Google and Apple also suspended Parler from their app stores Saturday.

Following his ban, Trump briefly used the official @Potus account to accuse Twitter of “banning free speech” and announced he is “negotiating with various other sites, and will have a big announcement soon, while we also look at the possibilities of building out our own platform in the near future. We will not be SILENCED!"

Twitter quickly removed the tweets from the @Potus account, citing its policy on banned users trying to circumvent it via other accounts.

We as a "free" country , have reached a new low..when a couple rich guys can dictate what the people can hear, read and digest!  Have we now become a plutocracy?

Here's wishing more success to Gab !  We need a revolution in the internet services, or at the least, an overhaul of the ugly, biased situation we have now!

Hopefully Gab doesn't have their servers through Amazon like Parler.

Gab has other problems.  It looks like they're having trouble handling their own success.  The site seems to be constantly swamped.  Time will only tell if they can work out these problems.

I hope Parler sues Amazon and gets a huge pay out.  It will take time but there are laws against this type of business practice and they stand a better chance in the courts than the election challenges did...

Kind of like the gay couples who sued to have a baker bake them a cake huh???  Did you support that?  Kind of the same thing, telling a business who they have to do business with.  Which precedent will prevail...

Cancelled our amazon prime membership and will be looking to other sources for things we can't buy locally. In my opinion, amazon is the modern equivalent of Standard Oil and needs to be dealt with. The same goes for facebook and twitter.

Gab is the place to go imo! Keep trying Dee. They are adding and improving daily to keep up with the flood of new members. I joined a few day's ago, and I'm glad I did. They are trying to get President Trump onboard. If he joins, I'm sure it will be a success. We desperately need a platform. The Communist Democrats and their pardners, the Rino Republicans have all of MSM and social platforms locked in.

AGREED SIR. FB and twitter are too big for their britches. FB has me banned for 3 day. I commented on an article about blm throwing molotov coctails, rockcs and bottles. I said, cops have guns, open fire. I violated their standards by inciting
 violence. CHARLIE.  ::) ::)

I've always felt a business should be able to run their investment as they choose.
Don't like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram? Then get away from'em. Its just that simple.

My problem with big Tech's response to this is that no one, period, should have the ability to crush, or threaten to crush, a business just by saying you aren't allowed to play! That is why antitrust laws came about.... The big robber barons became so powerful that they held the power of life and death over smaller companies, and frequently hapless individuals!

I agree, I'd rather err on the side of capitalism.

That being said, the Democrats are being their usual hypocrite selves on this. They normally scream from the top of their lungs about monopolies but now that these monopolies are giving them huge amounts of dollars suddenly monopolies are just fine in their eyes.

Using your reasoning,  landlords should be able to choose who they rent to.  So if I had a house for rent, I should be able to say no liberals? You can't have it both ways.  This is an anti trust case but I have little faith in the courts to deal with it honestly.

I agree Tony.  I have actually been denied a place to rent in the past (although I am white, and a veteran - not on credit either)  Anti Trust is a completely different thing and may be necessary in some cases.
