Ihuntbucks,

Ive' owned several Charles Daly O/U made by Mirokiu in the past, and all were great guns for the money. Chas. Daly is not a mfg It's just a name under which guns have been sold for many decades. First was Germany/Austria, then Japan, then Turkey, Russia and now Spain(at least for the break-open models, O/U & SXS). Knowing where the gun was made is the best indicator of the quality, as far as a Daly is concerined. Best I can tell you is avoid the Russian and Turkish made stuff, they were crap.

In fact I just won an auction on Gun Broker for a Charles Daly .410 O/U
I'll let you know when I get it( It's one of the newer Spanish guns).

The actual man Charles Daly, was a partner in an east coast dept store back in the 30's. He lent his name to the import licience and the contract guns were made with his name on them. Various owners of the brandname have been using it's familiarity ever since.

The Charles Daly name on shotguns and other products is a real old one and used to be at least a well respected name. The ownership of the name has changed many times over the years and the products have been made in a number of places by a number of different manufacturers.

Back in my competition days in the 70s and 80s they were made in Japan by Mirouku (might not be spelled correctly) and were finely made guns. I have no clue who makes them now or even who now owns the name. You won't find them commonly available nor widely known so that's likely the reason for no responses so far.

I own a Charles Daly Maxi Mag pump 12 ga 3 1/2" chamber.  I've added a Remington turkey choke for Tom hunting and have it patterned out to 40 yrds using winchester supreme 3 1/2" high velocity loads.  I've also used it with the Mod choke and field loads for dove and crow. Also used it with a Reminton hevishot choke for Sea duck and goose.  I also own a Remington 870 express and the Daly is as good as the 870 express.

Here is the info from their web site.

C-130 E, where are you from.  I'm in a guard unit in North Carolina.  We have 12 C-130H3's.  Where was that picture taken?  I did my time in Ali Al Salem Kuwait and J-bad Pakistan.  We are headed back soon.
