Bow for a beginner??
« on: March 02, 2004, 10:48:15 PM »
Alright guys,I've been thinking of taking up bow hunting for deer this coming season and was wondering what bow and acessorities I needed. Now I have looked at several catalogs and there's NOWAY I'm giving %00 or 600 for a bow.I can't justify giving that much money for something that will not kill something over 50 yrds and is no semi-auto    In ohter words I mean "cheeeep" cuz I probably won't like iy anyway, but am willing to give it a try.The last time I shot a bow was years ago bow fishing. An old Bear recurve. This was before compound bows.I believe I just dated myself  :o ..............Rick

You get what you pay for.

PSE has a Marauder Package from cabellas with all the stuff you need for under 300.

get your correct draw length before you buy though.
Cheers,

YOU CAN ALSO GET A PSE V-4 PACKAGE( 2
CAM) FOR RIGHT AROUND $200. :-D i'VE GOT ONE I PURCHASED IN '98. i STILL HAVE IT AND I HAVE KILLED DEER WITH IT. IT'S THE PERFECT BOW FOR ANYONE STARTING OUT. I 'LL TELL ONE THING THOUGH, I LIKE IT ENOUGH I WILL NOT PART WITH IT. LIKE YOU SAID , CAN'T JUSTIFY A BIG LOAD OF MONEY  MAKE SURE THOUGH THAT YOU HAVE SOMEONE IN MIND, THAT CAN SET IT UP RIGHT THE 1ST TIME. LIKE I SAID I LOVE MY V-4 AND I PLAN ON KEEPING IT A LONG TIME.            TOMMY

Whatever bow you get, be sure to get one that fits you AND get the right arrows for the bow.

If you don't have a bow that fits, you will definitely give it up too soon.

Good luck!
