Hey a friend of mine just told me he heard that the CEO of S&W had to step douwn because it was learned that he had a fellony record for armed robery.  Anyone hear anything about this?  Is this a hoax?

I saw it in time magazine too.  Very emabrrasing on S&W part.  might be easy to do but with the scrutiny they get I am very suprised.  He is STILL on the board, just not CEO.  I think THAT is even worse.  Give the anti's awhole lot of ammo to shoot with.  Smart move S&W.

How better to re-enforce their contention that they make the guns for felons.  Hire them for your governing board.  Doesn't make sense to me no matter how sharp he is.  He is not EVEN ALLOWED TO HOLD THEM.  Some much for product review from management.

That's like saying that the company that makes the bolt, that attaches the bracket, that holds the frame, that secures the dashboard shouldn't hire someone with a DUI conviction.  :-D  :-D  :-D  :-D  Let the anti's cry. Personally, I like Smiths and the Hob Gobblin could be CEO for all I care.

I just think it's stupid.  Unfortunately we have to care about that stuff cause if we and S&W bury our heads in the sand about matters like that, next thing you know there is a new anti gun law on the books.  It's REAL easy to get the public swayed the wrong way with a lot of lies and a little bit of truth.

Doesn't that mean that the main man building S&Ws can't legally pack one?

Not unless he gets a job as a cop. When felons were prohibited from possessing firearms, the cops with felony convictions were specifically excluded. (I'd rather see convicted felons prohibited from wearing the badge.)
The police unions were all for the ban on "domestic violence offenders" until they found out that cops who beat their wives would not be exempt.

Ah yes, welcome to the land of liberty and justice for all... for all who have money or connections that is.

Well, even as screwed up as the "justice system" in our country is it is still a far cry better than what anyone else on the planet has.  Thank God.
