NWHunter is right. A lot of people support the 2nd in different ways. I taught hunters safety, 4-H shooting sports and youth trap for many years. Bringing in the next generation of firearm owners. I've been in the NRA but now feel they lack the balls to fight. GOA is the next NRA.
I am a life member of both but got strongly turned off by GOA when one of the regular flyers I got from them did  nothing but attack the NRA.
That is cutting off your nose to spite your face.

I don't think so. Nuthin wrong with tellin the truth about the NRA.

If they are asking me for money , which they were, and though that trashing the NRA, rather than  state political problems was the way to do it, they are no better than the NRA and actually worse.
This was not recently, it was years ago.

The dork in charge of the NRA is way overdue for elimination, but without the NRA the 2nd would be as useful as toilet paper now.
The fact they are enemies , not allies probably has liberal doing the happy dance every day.

Well don't give'em money then. The GOA, and the NRA are two separate entities, with two separate goals.
The GOA is for protecting your 2nd Amendment rights,  and the NRA is for separating you from your money.

Now as far as the 2nd Amendment being as useful as toilet paper were it not for the NRA? Apparently you don't understand what the 2nd Amendment is all about. It ain't about the NRA.

It protects the right to bare arms, and the NRA does a lot to preserve it, as does the GOA but as I said,  if the GOA thinks the NRA is their enemy they are far from some shining star for gun rights and the Liberals enjoy fully their attacks on the NRA, good way to get gun owners fighting each other not govt. officials who want to shut down the 2nd Amend.
The GOA ask me for money , for the same reason , and in the same manner as the NRA, --  "Oh gee we going to lose our gun rights unless you send us money now, blah, blah, blah, blah..."
If they send me a flier attacking the NRA because they think I should send them money instead of the NRA, that has bullshite to with saving my gunrights, it is wreaks more of jealousy.
I still support the GOA but they are large organization run by money just like the NRA, nothing more, nothing less; I support them for the reason they exist, or are supposed to.
I pay zero attention to gun rights grade given by either org. when it comes to an election; if people are so dense they need that to decide their vote, they deserve any misery that comes their way.

I hope the law case against the dude in charge is successful, large organizations often do not realize they are in a world of hurt till some one craps in their soup.

Well Bob, many here believe that the NRA is the opposite of what you think it is. GOA agrees with them. You may have to pick a side when it comes to your finances and where you send'em.

I've always found it puzzling when people know the facts, but still choose to ignore them. The NRA is not a friend of the american gun owner, and facts prove it.Several of us on GBO have posted facts about the NRA that are opposed to the second amendment, and they still make excuses for them.

I will not, and will not support an Org. that wants my money, and won't do anything positive with it.
Do what you will with your money, but don't accuse those of us that won't support them as being foolish.

Well nw_hunter, the old adage of "a fool and his money, are soon parted" still rings true, so generally I don't care what folks think, or do with their money.

I dealt with "the wrong thing" for 21 years, so I long ago set the bar pretty low for folks doin the right thing. That way when they do, I'm pleasantly surprised.
And I never think they'll agree with me, so I just keep moving along. Grudges are a waste of time, and only affect the holder.

I'm gonna do what I consider right, and is best for me, and mine.

We literally have almost 100 years of the NRA supporting anti 2nd Amendment gun control laws. None of it is a secret yet some people think the NRA is looking out for us.

“this can help prevent violent behavior before it becomes a tragedy.”

Here's the deal. How do congressmen and women become wealthy?

Answer: LOBBYISTS!

What is the NRA? A LOBBYIST!

Why is the NRA bankrupt? Mismanagement, exorbitant salaries, and they have become their own bureaucracy.

Why have they lost power in Congress? Their buying power has dried up, and anti gun LOBBYISTS pay Congressional members better.

It ain't that complicated.

The NRA is a lot like the GOP. The people who have been supporting the GOP and NRA (voters) are sincere and good people who mean well.
The leaders of the GOP and NRA are for the most part corrupt. They talk out of both sides of their mouth. They say, what you want to hear, and then do what they want to do. The GOP and Organizations like the NRA that pretend to be your friend are done. Stick a fork in them. If the Constitution is to be kept, it will take new leadership by patriots in both to make a difference, or start a new movement to get it back.

Trump started it for Republican Conservatives n 2016. It must continue to make a difference. It wont work if we continue to give our honestly earned money, time and support to criminals who laugh at us, while they continue to be self serving.

I'm sure the Socialist Democrat Congress, with their Socialist Republican friends will pass legislation to further reduce our Second Amendment rights, and The NRA will either do nothing but bit-h or suggest a compromise that only agrees to a portion of it.  This is their way of protecting our precious freedoms.

It really is that simple. Mike Bloomberg pays more money than the NRA these days.
