If Sen Leahy cannot fulfill his duties, there would be a special election in 6 months. But in the meantime, the GOP would control the US Senate. Vermont has a Republican Governor.

Lighting will strike almost anything. He likely is more conductive than a tree and they get hit all the time.  Being full of poo makes no difference...

It will be interesting to see if any more liberals from states with conservative governors get sick.  God has a history of only taking so much BS from a people before doing something to them....
