A Christian school teacher, who is a dear friend, has a FB page, which she updates daily. She is a particularly erudite person, who has mastered critical thinking in a big way. Here is her article from today.
"THINKING ABOUT WHAT OFFENDS THEM.
WHAT OFFENDS SOMEONE (OR A GROUP OF SOMEONES) TELLS YOU A GREAT DEAL ABOUT THAT SOMEONE.
LET’S TAKE A MOMENT AND CONSIDER WHAT IS NOW CONSIDERED OFFENSIVE…
The concept of absolute truth.
The Founding Fathers.
Our history.
The notion of American exceptionalism.
Borders.
Law enforcement.
MAGA hats.
Statues.
The Flag.
“The Star Spangled Banner.”
“One man, one woman.”
“There are two genders.”
“Masks don’t work.”
“It’s not about a virus. It’s about control.”
“Maybe we should learn more about hydroxychloroquine.”
"Let's consider what Simone Gold and the Frontline Doctors have to say."
“Other things cause death besides COVID.”
“What happened to the flu this year?”
“My body, my choice….no vaccine for me.”
“I’m not afraid of COVID.”
“I have questions about the presidential election results.”
“It wasn’t an insurrection.”
“All lives matter.”
“All black lives matter.”
BLM should probably not be considered for the Nobel Peace Prize.
“We should be color blind.”
“Reparations are not reasonable.”
The Green New Deal is a bad idea.
Social media censorship.
Free speech.
The First Amendment.
Deplorables (and their guns).
The Bible.
God.
God’s plan of redemption for fallen, sinful man.
To the progressive left, the above list is a list of fighting words. If these concepts are considered provocative and offensive, what does that tell us about progressives? It tells us that they are intolerant and miserable and in desperate need of our prayers and God’s mercy.
It now requires courage to support the traditional and the free.
And this says a lot of something about a lot of someones."
