The most accurate rifle I have ever owned was a Savage model 93 stainless heavy barrel.
It would put five into a 1/2” group at 100 yards with Winchester HPs real regular, and I attribute that to the quality of the barrel. Plus all their bolt actions are very accurate.
That being said, if they use the same quality barrel on the A-22 auto, it should shoot like gang busters.

I think you had a run of bad luck.  Most folks swear by their savages.
I only owned that one rifle and it was used but had a good trigger job already done on it.

  Those were essentially, Anschutz rifles with Savage/Anschutz, stamped into the receiver..and they shot like Anschutz rifles.
  Well, i tried other 22 mags, and owned a Marlin ..just couldn't come near the Anschutz accuracy.  I sold that Marlin and about swore off 22 mags, because i didn't need one so bad as to pay the new Anschutz price.
  Then one day, i was at my LGS, and noticed a base Savage 22 mag with basic mattel stock, at a ridiculous price of just over $200.
   Took it to my range...  Happy day!  The Anschutz accuracy is back !  I also have a Savage 93 ...17 HMR, in laminate wood, with heavy barrel,which will pound those tiny holes on top of one another.
  In the past, I tended to favor Marlins for their accuracy, but when Marlin was sold to the "freedom group", and hearing about Savage accuracy...i tried my first new savage product...now I am almost all converted to Savage rimfires.

   One savage i traded off recently, was my Savage model 64, ..22 semi auto.  That little rifle shot accurately and functioned very well.....except for those %*^& magazines..
  I replaced that little semi auto with a Thompson Center TCR22...and am very pleased with it !

That model 511 was the only rifle I've had that shot Stingers accurately.  Must have been that long 25" barrel.

The A22 is interesting because it uses a delayed blow back where other semi autos in 22 WMR are straight blow back.

Yeah, Lakefield.
It had no open sights but it did have screw mounted scope bases and a medium heavy barrel.
I did the shim trick on the trigger and lowered the pull to four pounds.
It looked more like a Remington 700 than a rimfire.

I had one. The mags fit kind of wonky. Make sure you lock it in correctly or it will fall out.

    If it shoots as well as my base model 93 .22 mag..you will have a winner!  Accuracy reviews are generally, quite positive.

Well, I believe I would choose the A22 over the CZ.
The A22 looks better to me, two piece stocks belong on shotguns, and the adjustable trigger on the A22 is a winner.

And, I wish I had kept my model 93.  It was the best shooting rifle I ever owned.

  The reason I posted that test, was because for many years now, in .22 semi-autos, the CZ has been considered the "gold standard" in the category.

Got the rifle today and sighted it in. Center and left side CCI 40 grain hollow point maximag. Right side Federal 50 grainfmj. I had one failure to eject with 30 rounds of the CCI. I had some Winchester of unknown weight which failed to cycle the action.  Michael Bell had the same issues in his YouTube video.

If so, not bad.
But keep trying different ammo brands and types.

My favorite was Winchester 40 grain hollow points.

   Avoid Winchester Dynapoints!  I have been very disappointed with them in either 22 mag or 22 LR.  I have not enjoyed them for accuracy OR function.
  I sometimes think they must take their bad lots, do that light stamp hollow point thing and sell them as Dynapoints.

  Perhaps others have had better success, "but that's my story...and I'm sticking to it!"

LOL, it’s a good thing that I had that boating accident and all my stash went to the bottom, it was mostly 22lr dynapoints.

I ended up buying 250 more CCI 40 grain hollow points on Gunbroker today. Got them for 88 dollars shipped.  A month or so ago the Walmart has 5 boxes at 12 dollars a piece so I am ok on ammo for awhile.

The trigger is light but has alot of take up and reset compared to my AR with a hyper fire trigger.

I haven't bought any Dynapoints in over ten years, but have a pretty good stash for squirrels and groundhogs.  They are the most accurate in my CZ bolt gun (1/2" five shot groups @ 50 yards).  And, they are almost explosive.  That CZ has a bit longer barrel than most American made guns, and a body hit on a squirrel is nasty, which is why I always go for head shots.  I've killed good size groundhogs out to just over 100 yards with a single hit.  Pretty impressive performance out of a .22 lr on an 8 lb critter in my opinion.  Don't know about the current offerings though.

When osama obama announced his run for the White House, I researched him and then started buying .22lr ammo.
Walmart had a ton of dynapoints for $9.95 per brick. I averaged 2 bricks a week until they ran out, then I started buying Federal HVHP at $10.95 per brick and I bought 2 bricks a week of them for a year.
Then came that terrible boat accident on the Ocmulgee river.......

Sorry to hear of your loss of all that ammo..  How did you happen to have it all with you when the boat tipped?

  Those Winchester Dynapoints...  I just don't get it, but the Dynapoints seem to be a product that guys either love...or love to hate!
   Some guys say they have performed very well for them, while other like myself, were never fans of them!

  Some guys like the Remington Thunderbolts, while some of us don't like them either...same goes with Winchester Wildcats..  But at one time, many years ago, the Winchester T-22s were my "go to" rounds for accuracy, until CCI Standards came onto the scene.
