Supreme Court raises bar for some immigrants to avoid deportation

The Supreme Court on Thursday made it harder for longtime immigrants who have been convicted of a crime to avoid deportation.
Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote the opinion for a 5-3 conservative majority that ruled against a Mexican citizen who entered the U.S. illegally and has lived in the country for 25 years.
The man, Clemente Avelino Pereida, had been charged in Nebraska with using a fraudulent Social Security card to get a job and convicted under a state law against criminal impersonation.

Not all criminal convictions inevitably lead to deportation, but Gorsuch wrote for the court that Pereida failed to prove he was not convicted of a serious crime.
Under immigration law, “certain nonpermanent aliens seeking to cancel a lawful removal order must prove that they have not been convicted of a disqualifying crime,” Gorsuch wrote.

Views on race and policing shift as Derek Chauvin trial opens

Last June, 60% in a USA TODAY/Ipsos Poll described Floyd’s death as murder; that percentage has now dropped by double digits to 36%. Uncertainty has grown about how to characterize the incident, caught on video, when Chauvin held his knee on Floyd’s neck and ignored his protests that he couldn’t breathe. Last year, 4% said they didn’t know how to describe it; that number has climbed to 17%.

With the way this country is headed and the southern border being invaded your description of what is going on with George Floyds death by saying doom and gloom is totally false and fos. Give it up. You think it is getting better or will then I know you are full of it.

Exactly Mule. Only rhinos and liberals that think things will get better by time are living in their foo foo dream world. Unbelievable some people think that way.

Beyond doom and gloom has nothing to do with a criminal refusing police officers and made a martyr by liberals from Minnesota

Well Bob, did you not notice that the Democrats stole a presidential election, and then a month later stole two Senate seats?
Did you not notice that the lower courts refused to hear the voter fraud cases, and the Supreme Court did the same, and the Supreme Court also dropped all sanctuary city cases at the Biden regimes' request.

The Democrats/idiots control the house, the Senate , and the White House, the Capitol is double fenced with concertina wire, and is controlled by military troops.

What is everyone else missing, that your seeing? Why are you right, and everyone else is wrong. Why does your distant past campaign experience qualify you as the site expert?
What do you see, that 75 million other voters missed?
I don't think acknowledging that this country is in serious trouble is doom, gloom , or panicking.
It's an observation.
2022 will be the second most important election in this countrys' history, and with those rebellious states handling the election as they please
, and openly violating the Constitution, 2022 ain't lookin good.

I suggest bob take a trip to the Mexican border in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona or California and see first hand what is happening. Then just maybe along with what else is going on, elections, antifa, abortions, covid crap he might actually think we have problems. But when people talk about foo foo  stuff and ridiculous cartoons to express their selves I know they're full of it.

No doom and gloom just reality and there's a battle going on even now over which direction things go. HR1 when challenged will determine that when it reaches the scotus. If they defer from taking up the case it means the they have been totally compromised by threats and fear and we are no different than any other third world dictatorship.

Since when does not being  pessimistic have any thing to do with being correct or incorrect.
If being correct one must take the attitude --" We’re doomed, we’ll never make it, we’re all gonna die!" -- then those who commit suicide are the ones with correct attitude, since there is no God, we are defeated and it is all over , no reason to live.

I have often been criticized often by people in my circle of friends for always seeing the dark side of an event  but at the same time I do it only in the sense of an exact moment, I do not carry it into the future.
When I was young I was an eternal optimist.
I firmly believe God has cast this on us to save us from our selves, so:

The more hate you feel, the more hate will show up and stay in your life

Don’t cry about yesterday.
It’s over. Do something today to make your tomorrow better.
Just stop crying over yesterday’s crap.

If you don’t like the toxic people in your life, get rid of ’em.

You control your life.
Not your family, your partner or anyone else.
If they do, it’s because you are letting them.

Stop talking about it and just do it.

The longer you talk about your problems, the longer they will stay.
Do yourself a favour and start talking about solutions.

I got this far because my desire for a better life was stronger than my desire to stay in misery.

It doesn’t matter how many times you got pushed down, get up!!
Keep getting up. Don’t stay down. Show them how strong you are.

Yesterday sucked. I get it.
You were hard done by.
We all were.
Forgive, forget and move on.
Life is too damn short.

I thought the same thing. The world is perfectly safe. Seen a good segment on Newsmax showing the capitol being prepared for an assault on March 4th. The predicted date of an invasion. Not a soul on site. Rhinos and liberals wrong again as usual.
