And ideas . From the much earlier movie, and book " Red Planet"? It certainly does looks like it. The author of Red Planet has opened up a court case about this. Especially the rescue scene, which is almost identical.

Same thing with Enemy Mine, which copied the concept from an old war movie, where an American soldier and a Japanese soldier were marooned on an island and had to get along together to survive.

While you are at it don't forget "Avatar" which was just "Ferngully" a children's animated movie, retold with computer generated effects. BY the way those blue critters were uuuugly.

Avatar was just another stab at Americas past. White man bad, native Indians good. It's at the bottom of my list as good SciFi.
