As crossings along the southern border surge to near-record levels, the Biden administration is considering flying migrants to states near the Canadian border, according to a report.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requested the plane support from Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Friday after 1,000 migrant families and unaccompanied minors crossed the Rio Grande into South Texas Friday morning, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials told The Washington Post. Border agents still have another 1,000 migrants they were unable to process last night, according to communications reviewed by the Post.

The backups at CBP are exacerbated by the nearly 4,500 unaccompanied children being held in detention centers and tent sites at the border, many beyond the legal three-day limit.

During the record 2019 border surge under President Trump, ICE flew migrants to other border sectors with the capacity to hold them.

That crisis was during the warmer months, and it’s not clear whether CBP will be able to provide warmer clothing for families sent to states like Michigan, South Dakota and Montana. These facilities also have far fewer resources to take in migrants. The email seen by The Post indicates CBP has not yet decided which facilities will take in the migrants.

CBP has already used ICE aircraft to transport migrants from the overwhelmed Rio Grande sector facilities to nearby El Paso.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) said Thursday it will give $110 million to organizations providing food and shelter to migrants at the border.

Most single adult migrants are still being expelled under Title 42, a CDC coronavirus health order, but new numbers show that in February, CBP allowed the majority of the migrant families it encountered on the U.S. southwestern border to stay in the country pending a decision on whether they will be allowed to stay permanently.

In February, there were 19,246 total encounters with migrant families on the southern border. Of those encounters, 7,915 were expelled from the country.

The agency encountered 71,598 total single aliens in February and booted 64,108 of them under the Trump health order.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is visiting the southern border Friday with a group of senators.

Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., said he "fought back tears" as he visited an overcrowded child migrant facility.

"Just left the border processing facility. 100s of kids packed into big open rooms. In a corner, I fought back tears as a 13 yr old girl sobbbed [sic] uncontrollably explaining thru a translator how terrified she was, having been separated from her grandmother and without her parents," he wrote on Twitter.

Math must not be a strong suit for some people. It doesn't take an engineering degree to calculate the fact that a wall you pay for once is much cheaper than paying to support millions of illegal aliens and their anchor babies indefinitely.

  The idea behind it is democrat/nefarious..as usual.  According to my niece who lives in Maine, Portland is host to many, many imported illegals.  Obviously, the states which will be hit hardest, are states which are close in in voter registrations  Maine is close since they do have a couple republican senators, but both lean left.

They are tougher then we give them credit for. You would think the sub-zero cold would drive them south but it doesn't. If he dumps them here they will be milking cows and hanging drywall. I am a "build the wall" supporter. There was an "agent" that would find all the help farmers needed that I had a conversation with once. The ones around here have very poor
personal hygiene habits, and JMHO
that's why so many carry diseases.
They're living in these section 8's and
rentals, and they have utilities, therefore
a way to wash off, but the large majority
don't wash and smell like sweaty horses
or billy goats.  They try to cover themselves
in cheap flea market perfume, but that
just makes it worse. The women wash
the clothes with that fabulousa that
smells like extremely concentrated grape
koolaid, then they use a whole pack of
dryer sheets on them after the funk

sized pack of bath soap is still relatively
cheap, and a large selection of shower
gels can be had at every dollar store

Like the fool from Scranton New Jersey who canceled construction on finishing the wall, invited South America in, and in less than 3 months has turned Border Patrol Agents into "daycare workers", and flooded our towns and cities down here with illegal aliens from all over the world?

I think busing them up north by the thousands is an excellent solution. Just pull into those little northern communities downtown area, open the bus doors, and turn'em out. Share the wealth so to speak.

My oldest son lives in Portland Maine. There are quite a few illegals but there are also a ton of Somalians that we intentionally imported going all the way back to Jorge Bush I who brought in the first wave of Somalian refugees. There is a city to the northwest of Portland called Lewiston that is unrecognizable as an American city because there are so many Somalians. They turned it into a complete dunghole. Lewiston was once a proud manufacturing city but it now resembles a 3rd world hellhole thanks to liberal Republicans like Bush and Klinton who also brought a ton of them in.
