Mileage tax coming?
« on: March 28, 2021, 02:10:03 AM »
   .
...Looks like Comrade Biden may institute a mileage tax, that is a special tax for each mile you drive your vehicle.

  https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/buttigieg-vehicle-miles-tax-infrastructure

How will they know how many miles you drive?  Obviously they will not trust the driver, any more than they trust the citizen with income tax. So there will have to be a device installed in each vehicle, or a tracking method at eacht gasoline/diesel sale point.
Now with the new travel passport to prove you are vaccinated before you can fly, attend events or perhaps travel interstate....  add this mileage tax data collection...which can all be stored in the new Obama built security data collection campus near Bluffton, Utah...and they can keep a very close watch on whatever we do.

Joseph Stalin and Chairman Mao...could only DREAM of such a personal travel and data collection...

I'm sure there is a way to implement this socialist idea with today's technology. The have to pay for all the free money out there and this is but one way to do it. Insane

We already have a mileage tax on gasoline and diesel. The more you drive or the more fuel your vehicle consumes the more you pay in taxes. It doesn't matter how much you pay to the government though, they always want more of your money.

In early 2009, President Obama's new Secretary of Transportation, Ray LaHood, a Republican representative from Illinois, recommended a black box on every vehicle for a mileage road tax. The idea was deferred by the president.

As more vehicles use less or no petroleum fuel, thus, less fuel tax, the government turns to another alternative.

Most have already accepted tracking devices, whether installed on a vehicle or on a phone.

Doesn't matter if a person comes up with that idea is a Repugnican, a Democrap or Libertarian...they are wrong to be so willing to probe into personal lives by that much.

Let's look at i this way..Your car has a blackbox with # A3456...  Big Brother can follow you from Boston to Pittsfield, MA..then to Harrisburg PA ...to Fairmont, WV and all across the country.
BB can also see by your meal charges that you are travelling alone, and that you attended a baseball game in a small stadium in in Indianapolis alone...and since you are a "cool" type..BB also knows that you visited a topless  bar in Kansas City.
After the visit to that bar closed,  you enjoyed a nice dinner for two, then took a nice hotel room, and had room service deliver drinks for two in the room..

Now consider that driver could be a congressman...a married congressman..  Such could be much like "filegate", back in the 1990s, when it was found that Hillary had the FBI files of everybody in congress...stowed in her desk.

Come to think of it, I can't recall her receiving justice for this infraction.

.
BTW... WE have seen many special taxes levied in order to "fix the infrastructure"...Obama even threw us into nearly a trillion dollar debt for "shovel ready" projects.

..But sadly it seems, we get all the debt, the raised funds disappear, ..and the infrastructure has not been affected by by much.
OK, suppose we had these black boxes in each of our vehicles, and we paid extra $$ for every mile we drive..
Do you in your wildest dream, think that would guarantee that our roads, bridges and the rest of our infrastructure would be first class in a couple years.

BTW:  When the strange one  from Indianapolis suggested added mileage tax, I didn't see where he mentioned removing the tax-per-gallon at the pump.

Some folks are saying the reason eligible Americans haven't recived their third stimulus money yet.  Is because that end of the program ran out of money. It was only 9% of that care act anyway. And the IRS squabbling with Social Security about needed information. They didn't have any problems with the first two. But if you owe the IRS they have no problem finding you.

In Pa every year you get your car inspected your mileage driven is known and recorded. They could easily tax you yearly on your miles driven.  A big federal tax increase is coming also.  Gotta pay for the swarm of illegals coming in somehow.

worried about them tracking you where you go? Why do you then carry a cell phone which makes it easy for them to track you and know where your at. Between those and the fact that about everyone uses credit cards and check cards today instead of cash and your already being watched every day.

I don't always carry a cell phone, since it has not yet grown into my hand or hip!   ;) ;D   ...Plus I rarely use a credit card.  If I order something from Natchez, Midsouth Shooters or my local pharmacy, I may use my credit card, but face to face, I'm usually a cash buyer.

Mainly because I don't see any reason why BB should know so much about what I do or buy.  Of course, for that reason the leftists are bent on making us a "cashless economy".  I'm not playing along..

Being on " will call" I have to keep my cell phone close by. Unless notified differently. But at least I have a company truck and can use it for personal use. So if it's taxed, I won't be the one who pays it.

Doesn't matter too awful much if
you have a phone with you or not.
If the government truly wants to
find you, it can be done with nearly
no effort and with lightning speed.

Exactly. If you go online and do anything the government knows about it. One nation under surveillance.

As said earlier ^ ^ ^
All your purchases are tracked unless
you're a one time purchase cash customer
like at a restaurant. Even with a wallet
full of cash, they've got your photo when
you top off your tank, when the pizza man
delivers, you're on a record, any mail order,
any repairs of any kind,  etc. etc
They've been compiling records for decades
under the guise of selling "mailing lists " etc.
I don't doubt that somewhere ( or several
somewheres) that there's a thick file on
everything I've ever bought or paid for, or
places I've been and how frequently by my
gas purchases.

Correction..  If all vehicles are taxed by the mileage driven...guess who pays..

If it is your own vehicle you pay.  If it is a company vehicle you still pay..  How so?  Well, the company will have to pass the costs on to the consumer.  Now consider...everything you buy, comes by truck, nearly every home delivery is made by truck, even if it is Fed Ex or the USPS...they will have to pass it on.

Same with the gas company, electric company, phone company, Home repairs, construction, feed truck, fuel or other deliveries to home, farm or factory!

Highway plowing and/or repairs will cost more..so more local taxes..  Do you think for one moment that if the CEO at Bank of America, ends up with $500,000 less at the end of the year, he/she is just going to shrug their shoulders over the loss?

Same goes if lying Joe claims his new taxes will only hit "the rich"!  If the corporate manager has to pay more taxes...guess who pays in the end...

..Nope, any losses incurred, will end up on the backs of the working class folks !

I would imagine a good many of
the businesses that DJT brought
back to America are scouting new
overseas locations to relocate to.
Only they won't ever be back again.

yup ive said it before. This country was DESIGNED so that the middle class foots the bill. Raise the taxes on the ceo of ford and your f150 is going to cost more. Youd have to be real stupid to think there just going to sit back and say Dam now im going to make a million bucks less this year. Bottom line is they pay people to creatively hide there money. You and i use H&R block. Who do you thinks going to come out ahead on that deal.

pretty easy actually. When you go to buy plates every year all theyd have to do is look at your odometer. Pretty easy to put a sealant or something like that on your cables to make sure your not disconecting them and spinning it back. Heck with the stroke of his well used pen he could make it a felony to alter the odometer. What would happen is your 75 dollar plate every year will now cost you 575 bucks.

Today's technology can build a box
like an hour meter that can tell RPMS
and engine load, satellite tracking, etc.
All financed by the taxpayers.
Oh yes. If they decide to, and anybody
gets caught without it, you'll probably
lose the vehicle at best, incarceration
at the worst
