Some "Turd World" country? Is the driver responsible for securing the load? If so, he only has himself to blame.
I had a couple of rolls of steel like that come off a semi and crash through my fence - the semi landed in the ditch. Driver "said" he hit a 1200# bull that was standing in the middle of the road at 2 a.m. Right! Like Insurance isn't going to challenge that! What was he drinking? Fall asleep maybe?
A crane was brought to extract the truck from the ditch. The flatbed trailer first, the two rolls of steel next. No bull. The 10-wheel semi was last, and THERE under the 8 wheels was a massive bull all rolled up into one squished hamburger mess. The crane lifted the mess into a County dump truck and off to the landfill it went. Driver exonerated!!!
Now, who owned that bull? It was a free range animal that had wandered out of the deep swamp, cut a barbed wire fence, and was surveying the landscape from the middle of the two lane asphalt in the dead of night at 2:00 a.m. when for no good reason it got run over by a passing semi. Is that a documentary in the making?
