Manhunt underway after 3 killed in Austin, Texas
Authorities claim suspect has been identified; 'Fox News Live' host Arthel Neville has the latest

A massive multi-agency manhunt including the FBI and U.S. Marshals was launched in Austin on Sunday for an armed suspect wanted for killing at least three people near an apartment complex.

Austin police said that the three lifeless bodies were all adults, including two Hispanic females, and one Black male. They said they believe the suspect is Stephen Nicholas Broderick, who is possibly a former law enforcement officer charged with sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl last summer.

Austin's KXAN, citing an arrest affidavit, reported last June that the Travis County Sheriff's Office detective was on administrative leave following an arrest for allegations of sexual assault.

U.S. Marshals arrested Broderick on June 6, three days after the teen accused him of assaulting her in a home in Elgin, Texas, the Austin American-Statements reported.

Broderick reportedly spent 16 days in jail before he posted a reduced bail amount of $50,000. Court records reviewed by the paper indicate his wife filed for divorce and obtained an order of protection after his arrest.

WHO IS INDIANAPOLIS FEDEX SHOOTER BRANDON HOLE?

The Austin Police Department said the suspect was still at large as of approximately 2:30 p.m. local time and is considered armed and dangerous.

Police urged everyone nearby to shelter in place and report suspicious activity. The order was later lifted, but the suspect still remained at large. FBI agents on the scene were classifying the hunt as a "fugitive search."

"We are concerned he might possibly take a hostage and be himself sheltered somewhere waiting for us to leave," Interim Austin Police Chief Joseph Chacon said during a news conference earlier Sunday afternoon.

Chacon said Broderick knew the victims but didn't elaborate on how or provide a motive for the shootings. He also said a child was involved but that the child has been located and is safe.

EMS spokeswoman Capt. Christa Stedman said the first 911 call came in at 11:44 a.m. and that three adults were fatally shot. She said she did not know the exact location where they were killed but that EMS responded to an area that included a strip mall and several retail stores with a large apartment complex behind it.

"#ATCEMS has 15 response assets on-scene. No reports of other patients at this time. All assets staged [and] prepared to enter into the immediate incident location," Austin-Travis County EMS wrote on Twitter earlier.

The area includes a strip mall containing several retail stores and large apartment complexes situated near wooded rolling hills.

Josh Katzowitz, who had been shopping at the nearby Trader Joe's, said police and ambulances came "pouring in" to the area as he was leaving. He didn't hear any shooting.

"The cops had their guns out," he said. "Some had pistols, some had rifles and they were strapping on bulletproof vests. There were all of a sudden ambulances, sirens and police cars There were cops coming from everywhere."

Police said a portion of a nearby highway would be shut down in both directions.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

And this one.

KENOSHA, Wis. (WLS) -- A person of interest is now in custody in connection to a mass shooting at a Kenosha County, Wisconsin bar early Sunday that left three men dead and at least three others injured, according to police.

The shooting took place around 12:42 a.m. at the Somers House, a bar in the Village of Somers on Sheridan Road, according to the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department.

The popular bar is now surrounded in crime tape as officials continue to investigate.

Three of the victims have been hospitalized with gunshot wounds, and police said there could be at least one other possible unknown shooting victim.

"There's a possibility that one or two, or maybe even more had, minor injuries, some other injuries," said Sheriff David Beth, Kenosha County Sheriff's Department.

As of 4 p.m. Sunday, Kenosha officials said "a person of interest has been located and will be criminally charged with (1) count of 1st-degree intentional homicide with additional criminal charges to follow pending further investigation." They also said there is no threat to the community at this time.

Two of the victims died at the scene. The third victim fled in a car with other people but later died on the way to a hospital.

"At first, there was a fight that broke out between two individuals right next to the bar," said Heidi Wittwer, who was at the bar at the time of the shooting.

The sheriff said the person responsible may have been told to leave the bar, and then returned to go on the shooting spree.

"One person got removed from the establishment and possibly came back a short time later," said Sheriff Beth.

Wittwer said the bar was packed with dozens of people when the first round of shots were fired.

"We were told to duck, and then everyone started running and we all just ran very fast," Twitter said.

Peter Ploskee woke up to the sound of gunshots near his home.

"Next thing you know, I hear a bunch of shots going off. got up, ran out and looked out the window. Just see people running from the bar in every direction," he said.

The shooter, who is described as a six foot tall man wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt, is still on the loose, according to Kenosha officials.

"I didn't see nobody. Like I said, when I looked out the window, it was just chaos. People running every direction possible, so you know, who's who? Is that the guy? Is this the guy? People are just running, people screaming," Ploskee said.

Kenosha officials believe the incident was targeted and that the shooter may have known the victims.

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers released a statement regarding the shooting.

"My heart breaks for Kenosha this morning in the wake of a shooting that took three lives and injured at least two others. I want to thank the first responders who reacted quickly and are still working to investigate and find those involved in this senseless tragedy," Gov. Evers said. "Kathy and I join Wisconsinites in hoping and praying those injured will recover from their injuries. We are thinking of the families and loved ones affected and the entire Kenosha community as they grieve and grapple with yet another tragic incident of gun violence."

The Kenosha County Sheriff's Office gives an update after three people were killed and two others were injured at a shooting in a bar.

Officials said they are looking for possibly multiple people and multiple weapons. No guns were recovered at the scene, but did mention that a handgun or handguns could have been used, according to the sheriff.

The bar is known as gathering place for the Carthage College community. The campus was on lockdown for a period of time Sunday morning, according to the college website, but the college received a message at 6:20 a.m. from law enforcement that said the lockdown can be lifted.

Sheridan Road is closed near the scene, and officials said the area should be avoided so Kenosha Sheriff's Department can continue its ongoing investigation.

Anyone with information regarding the incident can contact the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department at 262-605-5100 or anonymously to the Kenosha County Crime Stoppers at 262-656-7333.

The hits just keep on coming when you need more gun control.

And with the climate we have now it isn't changing anytime soon. Too bad it's just us old folks that see it for what it is.

Yeah
When I was younger I spent a lot of postage stamps
and phone time trying to get the point of the
citizen's second amendment rights across, and
for a while would be at a gun show table and hand
out printouts and such and talk about gun rights
and such.
I got called a paranoid idiot and a survivalist and
and a nazi and every other ugly thing you can
think of. I believe things aren't much better these days
because people in general still seem to be asleep
when it comes to being aware of what is at stake
as far as citizens rights and what responsibilities
we must shoulder to protect what we have.
Way too many these days worry more about
guzzling beer and getting high.
Oh well.  . . .

Well, this shooter was a negro. Won't hear much about him

2nd Amendment, and gun control?

The 2nd Amendment is alive and well at my house. The gun control boys need to find themselves something else to do.
