In '69 I worked with a guy that had a job as area representative of a welding product manufacturer and he had to live in Albuquerque, He made it a year, quit, and moved back here. Said it was too tough for him and he was an ex cowboy, a real one, not a rodeo one. Bad even that long ago. A few years ago my wife's younger brother stayed there overnight and his room was on the second floor of a large motel. When he stepped off the stairs there was a guy robbing some people at gunpoint and he got included in the robbery. It was mid-afternoon, broad daylight, and at a large, supposedly safe establishment. I would drive straight through the place to get somewhere but that's it for me.
