All quit saying they did not need the problems of the job with no Dept or City support.
I spent 21 years in Law Enforcement, and if I were 30 years younger, I'd go to Albuquerque NM, and tell all 19 of those officers: Smart decision. I'd a quit to.
This is all getting crazier by the day.

It is a mess, and Albuquerque used to be a fun place to visit. My cousins son moved there thinking he could
a good job. First night he was robbed at gun point at his hotel. A few days later there was a dead body laying in the parking lot. Hookers, drug dealers, walk the streets on Central street, part of the old Route 66.  And the hotel he was staying in isn't a bad hotel. He came back home.

Mess is right and a dangerous one. In '69 I worked with a guy that had a job as area representative of a welding product manufacturer and he had to live in Albuquerque, He made it a year, quit, and moved back here. Said it was too tough for him and he was an ex cowboy, a real one, not a rodeo one. Bad even that long ago. A few years ago my wife's younger brother stayed there overnight and his room was on the second floor of a large motel. When he stepped off the stairs there was a guy robbing some people at gunpoint and he got included in the robbery. It was mid-afternoon, broad daylight, and at a large, supposedly safe establishment. I would drive straight through the place to get somewhere but that's it for me.

When I moved to Silver City, NM in 1982 Albuquerque had the highest murder rate per capital in the USA. I had to go to Albuquerque several times a year, sometimes staying for several days. Only good thing I found there was Peterson’s gun shop. And our A/G district offices.

Sounds like it’s not changed much.

When my wife and I watch the news we joke and say “let’s see how many people got killed in Albuquerque today”. It’s a shame how often we are right.

So far wife and I were there twice for several days before COVID. Stayed in a motel just of HWY 25, etc. No problems nor saw any signs of problems. My going on 85 year old birth mother lives there and walks daily between one and two miles and has not had any concerns. All cities have crime, just have to use some common sense.

You all realize that they resigned from the ERT, NOT the department. They are still all officers there.
