Maribou jigs
« on: April 25, 2021, 05:52:13 PM »
I knew had 2 lifetimes supply of
fishing stuff, but I didn't realize I
had the stash of lures that I have.
I have some maribou jigs that have
never been unwrapped that look
like something has unwrapped them,
chewed the feathers off, then rewrapped
and sealed them back up

What might have done that?
The cellophane wasn't torn up

Dunno, since the are natural feathers perhaps some natural predator of them got packaged up and they at the feathers and died.

I have quite a few maribou crappie jigs bought from bass pro back in the late 80's and early 90's and have seen the same problem. Best guess is over time, heat and humidity they just deteriorated.

Maybe so
I have oodles of plastic baits, so I'll
probably just salvage the jigs as
jig heads and use em that way.
I might need to buy some more about
the year 2031

Must have been some tiny
bug varmints of some kind.
I have some on cards still that
look like they put a painted jig
head in a bag and stapled it
to the card and wrapped em.
