did remington stop making these? i remember that the local dealer carried them for only a year or two. i liked the look of them but was to young to buy one. i haven't heard anything since. maybe they where banned in canada for looking to much like an assault rifle. :roll:

Be thankful you were unable to get one. My neighbor bought one years ago when they were around. It was his first semi, he had much trouble with it and never was able to get it working well. He's had many .22s, and said this was the biggest mistake he ever made.

they don't make it any more. it had more plastic than metal. to many problems with the plastic parts breaking.

Don't do it. It is not the gun the nylon66 was. I have a viper. If you drop it or bang the clip hard enough it will break the plastic clip guide in the magazine well. Then you have too order anew part from remington and hog out the old one and epoxy in the new one. Sounds like fun right? I have been there twice. Also will jam unless you use good high speed ammo like cci no cheap stuff. I used one to coon hunt with was great because it is lite but never carry it with the clip in the dark because if you fall and land on the gun real good chace the magzine guide is toast.

no, but i thought these where kind of a neat looking item. and the Stevens 87 i have is the most accurate semi .22 i have see, blows my buddies bull barreled 10/22 out of the water. now that it's scoped i'll have to test it for grouping

I owned one for a couple of years and never had any trouble with it. It cycled fine and was pretty accurate. I traded it for something else eventually.

My brother has one. For him it was accurate, after he trained his trigger finger to exert tremendous force on the trigger! I shot it a couple of times, the hardest trigger pull that I have ever felt. Now he shoots his AR that is converted to 22lr.

I own a Remington Viper and it is indeed a poorly made gun with more plastic than metal. The absolute worst trigger on a gun i've ever seen. I've seen toy cap guns with better triggers-no lie.
