What movie entertainment genre is your favorite?

#1 SciFi  of course.
#2 Westerns of course.
# 3 Chick flicks because my wife likes them lol.

Some  60's westerns (William Holden)
Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns
seems like a pattern developing

I'd probably say for me it's what
I would call drive in movies.
Those not really mainstream movies
that they used to have at drive in theaters.
Chrome and hot leather
Ginger
Fighting Mad
Wild Angels
Open Season
Legend of Boggy Creek
The Town that Dreaded Sundown
Chariots of the Gods
Cold Mountain
Master and Commander
Etc. Etc.

  If I am to spend time with a movie, I should be at the least learning something !

I guess I am somewhat of a Trekkie seeing just about all the Star Trek franchise movies a zillion times, over and over but I am also an old cowboy fan at heart too. Old western actors that really knew how to ride a horse like no other were Ben Johnson and Joel McCrea and any western movie they were in locked me into my recliner for a whole day if their movies were on the menu. Also a fan of Rawhide, Gunsmoke, Wagon Train, Wells Fargo and most all the old black and white westerns. I know I left out many more but you get my drift. We must not forget Clint Eastwood in his Spaghetti Westerns. I find most of the new actors and movie contents lacking for a choice of a better word.

Westerns and sci- are tied for first with action holding third spot. If my better half wants to watch chick stuff I read a book or surf the net.

"Chick stuff", is basically a story which is overloaded with drama.  Have you guys noticed however, that whether it is  a "lone survivor", western, pickers, medical, Life Below Zero, or digging on Oak Island...or almost any venue, they just have to throw in a bit of "drama"?

Action/adventure
war (non fiction)  Band of Brothers, Hacksaw ridge, Battle of Midway, Saving private Ryan, the Patroit. etc..
Maybe some drama
Westerns. Most all of Clint Eastwoods stuff. Love Outlaw Josey Wales.  One of my favorite scenes is "Are you going to pull those pistols or whistle Dixie"
Not a big comedy fan. Some is okay. A lot of it is just plain stupid.

Last of The Mohicans.
Terminator series
Gladiator
Shawshank Redemption
Saving Private Ryan
The Godfather

DDZ I like those also. I also liked Van Helsing, even though I'm not big on horror flicks. But it was different than most of the others. And it was derived from a couple of old classic novels.
