Umass suspends 3 students for incident not related to the school.
Not completely true, rules are rules, they broke them and now are paying the price...

If the incident occurred at the school, perhaps it would be better understood. However, the event they attended apparently was far from the school and in no way related to it!
How far should the school authority reach? Should they have absolute control over every facet of the student's life? Should the school be able to dictate student actions far beyond the campus, and at events having nothing to do with said school?
From the news broadcast, some searcher in the school discovered the photo while snooping into the students' personal communications. Could their lives stand up under the same scrutiny? Could just be another case of blatant hypocrisy !
As I see it, the school broke the contract, and unless wearing masks in all situations, on and off campus is specifically covered, the girls should beat least reinstated or given their tuition money back. Then perhaps some financial recovery for the inconvenience.
If I were them, i would take any settlement awarded and find another school, one which is less inclined to being so nosey and dictatorial !
