Local gun shop robbery and murder
« on: May 11, 2021, 03:26:29 PM »

A couple of weeks ago my teenage son and I dropped into a little hole in the wall gunship that had what I took four odd hours going by the lack of traffic and strange bc times to see vehicles in the parking area. It really didn't look like much from the road so I had never dropped in. Well because of a mix up I had a little time to kill on the way home from town and we decided we would finally take a look.
Through the doors we were treated by an almost museum like room with all kinds of military memorabilia. It really covered most of the ages of firearms with a particular emphasis on military arms of the Vietnam era consuming the greatest amount of display. They then had modern firearms and accessories behind the counter where the owner seemed to be occupied with paperwork. Another worker drifted around with us for a while and I think was checking to see if we had sticky fingers but was soon drawn into conversation and left our side. Like everyone else it seems they just couldn't keep much in stock.
Last Friday, May 7, two individuals entered the store and began shooting, the owner was killed with a shot to the head and the other guy is in critical condition after taking six rounds to the torso. He still has a long way to go so prayers for him would be appreciated. His name is Michael Paul and I was acquainted with him when I worked in another LGS nearly 20 years ago.
One of the suspects has turned himself in and the other is still hiding out or is on the run. The one in custody is only 21 yrs old and the other 23yrs old. Both are being charged with first degree murder and attempted first degree murder.
It kinda hit me hard that we had just been there just a week or so before this happened. The man still living was practicing open carry and I think that the deceased individual was as well.
We must ALWAYS be vigilant!!!!!
