Joe Lieberman on how US has responded to Israel-Gaza conflict

ISRAEL-HAMAS CEASE-FIRE GOES INTO EFFECT, LIFE RETURNS TO GAZA

JOE LIEBERMAN: We're not all on the same page. I would say that the ones who are furthest off the page, which is the page of fairness and American values and interests, are Senator Sanders and members of ‘The Squad.’ They seem to be unable to distinguish between Hamas -- a group that has been put on the foreign terrorist list by the U.S. State Department and an enemy of the United States and our ally, Israel -- and on the other side, Israel, one of our closest allies in the world and a democratic country. To jump on Israel, to threaten removal of arms sales to Israel in this kind of conflict is just outrageously unfair.

I think Hamas failed [to get back at their enemies] thanks to a very strong response from Israel, the effectiveness of the U.S. Israeli Iron Dome ballistic missile system. And I think the quiet and effective diplomacy of President Biden, who was not drawn in by the left of the Democratic Party to essentially take a stand against Israel. This was Hamas’ and Iran’s fault, not Israel's.

I hope this experience changes the attitude of people in the Biden administration who are [negotiating] a new nuclear agreement with Iran. You can't trust Iran. They're out to hurt us. They're out to hurt our allies.

So maple syrup socialist Bernie would like to see the conflict end.....maybe he remembers the original 1947-48 Partition Agreement gave Israel set borders, and Palestine set borders....a deal is a deal.
And so Leiberman does not honor the Partition Agreement and sees his team expanding by ignoring the original Partition and that requires lots of arms and cash. Right now I think Israel gets around $10 million per day from US taxpayers.

And who was at fault for this, the Israelis agreed, the palis, yea not so much.

Quote
The Plan, devised in cooperation with Jewish organizations, was accepted by the Jewish Agency for Palestine, despite dissatisfaction over territorial limits set on the proposed Jewish State.[5][6] Arab leaders and governments rejected it[7] and indicated an unwillingness to accept any form of territorial division,[8] arguing that it violated the principles of national self-determination in the UN Charter which granted people the right to decide their own destiny.[6][9]

Immediately after adoption of the Resolution by the General Assembly, a civil war broke out[10] and the plan was not implemented.[11]

Omega...

Yes, the Arab Christians and moslems rejected the Partition Agreement, and any deals afterwards just as you or I would. Because  to address problems arising from the presence of national minorities in each area, the Commission suggested a land and population transfer involving the transfer of some 225,000 Arabs living in the envisaged Jewish state and only1,250 Jews living in a future Arab state, a measure deemed compulsory “in the last resort.” The Palestinian Arab leadership rejected partition as unacceptable, given the inequality in the proposed population exchange and the transfer of one-third of Palestine, including most of its best agricultural land, to recent Euro immigrants. The Jewish leaders, Chaim Weizmann and David Ben-Gurion, persuaded the Zionist Congress to lend provisional approval to the Peel Commission recommendations as a basis for further negotiations. In a letter to his son in October 1937, Ben-Gurion explained that partition would be a first step to “possession of the land as a whole.”
Then along came Menachem Begin,
Lehi, Irgun, Haganah, and the Stern Gang and their terrorism _ _ as the world has never seen before.

Instead of creating a State, they went to war, getting their butts kicked in the process.  If they had created a State, and accepted that Israel has a right to exist, they would have a much better chance of building themselves a home, a home for which they are not entitled to IMO, but a home nonetheless.  Israel at least has said they have a right to exist, but if you look at all palestinian maps, and even that of some EURO countries don't have Israel on them.  How would you react to someone trying to erase all existence of your people, specially after the systematic killing of millions of them only decades earlier?
