Why do many Americans tend to favor Jews over Muslims?

My point was and is that, in discussions like these, it is important to be as accurate/specific as possible. I am not at all sure that everyone on this forum sees left or right as you do.
I cannot show you anyone on the far left who thinks as you describe.....i do not know anyone on the far left.

  Now it may be you who is mixing metaphors..   Obviously, the Ottoman was beyond moribund by 1940. When referring to the choice of the wrong side, I was referring to the Muslim nations in a general sense.

  I believe there is little doubt that they are driven by their extreme hatred of Israel, ever since the days of Isaac and Ishmael.

  In (Gen 16:11,12NIV) God tells Hagar;

  11 The angel of the Lord also said to her:

“You are now pregnant
    and you will give birth to a son.
You shall name him Ishmael,
    for the Lord has heard of your misery.
12 He will be a wild donkey of a man;
    his hand will be against everyone
    and everyone’s hand against him,
and he will live in hostility
    toward all his brothers.”

  As we well know, that was written about 4,000 years ago, and it still holds true.  Ishmael's descendants can't even get along with one/another.
  This leads many to believe this current stage in history and with the prominence of the Arab/Israeli struggle, points to something much deeper than politics..something SPIRITUAL !

  Perhaps WE are now to make choices...

I wasn't trying to get nasty, I was just trying to avoid getting buried in semantics and focus on the topic at hand. The Democrat party is almost exclusively far left these days, you can count the centrist/slight left Democrats with one hand. We have a number of Democrats who openly admit to being far left by calling themselves "Democrat Socialists" so surely you must know at least a few on the far left.

The only one who comes to mind is Bernie. I don’t much follow the ins and outs of American politics. That is why i do not comment about politics much, only about the way ideas are stated and how they are put together.

One thing to remember about the Ottoman Empire is they owed a fortune to both France and Britain.  They'd been borrowing tons of money they really couldn't pay back and if Germany won, their loans would be wiped out.

Bernie is just one of many. AOC, Thalib, Pressley & Omar are self described socialists as well. The majority of the Democrats in Congress hold far left beliefs, it's not something they are trying to hide. They will freely state these beliefs. It's not something I'm making up so back to your original point of
"to say, however,  that anyone who is left of where you are loves Muslims is inaccurate at best.". I never said "anyone to the left of me loves Muslims" so if you care about the way ideas are stated and put together you may not want to put words in people's mouths. You also haven't been able to point out a leftist who is critical of Muslims so I don't know where you got the "inaccurate at best" statement from.

   Yes, the King David Hotel attack was by Irgun.. ..But check back, that attack was as a result that in their effecting the Balfour declaration, the UK was starting to "wobble".
 
   They had already given away more than half the land, when they caved to the Hashemites and carved out Jordan from the re-founded Israel.  Then they started talking about carving even more.

  If the Jews had for the last70 years, been guilty of the same acts to be found in the OP and post #3, I would be  saying much the same of them.
