  Police accused of "meanness", I guess.  Were the police being cruel in asking the woman's daughters to translate for her?

  If perchance, it were a minor matter..I expect they were being considerate by not making a "federal case" out of the whole thing.  Why haul out interpretors and etc, when they didn't charge her anyway ?

   Much may depend upon when she went deaf.  If it was not at birth, but instead later in life, there was a good chance she could speak. If born deaf, she likely needed signers.

   Right away when they headlined the fact that it was a "black'" woman who was detained, for me it pointed toward bias..  What difference does color of the person make?
