Urolift
« on: May 27, 2021, 01:53:56 AM »
Anybody seen all the ads
for this business?
I got a folder about it and
I can't see anything that
would be any different than
any of the rotorooter things
the medical people do to
your body and charge you
a pile of cash for.
I just thought of it when I
was hearing the spokesman
saying " And no cutting! ! . . "

But when you read about it,
they state that there will be
some bleeding.
That's a contradiction.
If there's no cutting, where is
blood coming from?
The way I'm understanding it,
they put a rotorooter up your
spout, and deploy some tiny
knife blades to cut out a blockage.

OOOOWWWW
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

I think Urolift is where they suture little clips to open up the passageway which is why there is still bleeding. There's a new procedure called Rezum that I'm going to look into in a couple years. Last time I went to my urologist he told me it hasn't been approved by his hospital yet because it's fairly new but some of the bigger hospitals are doing it. It's an office procedure where they go in with a camera and it's literally just water vapor that opens things up. It supposedly doesn't have the side effects that roto rooter and urolift have.

Right now I'm just using Saw Palmetto and Pygeum root. They both help but it's not a huge difference, better than nothing though. As a side benefit the pygeum makes you shoot bigger loads.

Sounds like you are in need of flomax which puts saw palmetto way in the shade.

Flomax was the first thing I tried, it didn't help at all.

Fighting the same fight..tried a couple procedures..no better than when I started.  A fellow Legion member got the Uro-lift and claims it took care of his problem.
I tried all those things like saw palmetto and other over the counter stuff..but they didn't do a thing for me.  ..But we are all different..

I tried a few brands of Saw Palmetto, the first couple I tried did nothing but I found one that does help. I went to my urologist yesterday and he did a residual test and it was much better than the last time I went so it's definitely helping. Nothing earth shattering but a small improvement.

That is called by an acronym of TURPS.  There is a little trap door affair that keeps ejaclate from flowing into bladder.  Sometimes that trapdoor acts up, so they remove it.  No 'roto rooter' effect..just a tool that slips up  to do a snip.

Had it done several years ago, didn't change anything...except possibly the Doc's bank account.

A caution..In an effort to correct things, I have had 3-4 procedures done over the last few months.  One gave me no choice, radiation treatment for prostate cancer.  However I got radiation burns, so when i later got a needed colonoscopy, they treated it with a laser.

VA did a Botax thing to my bladder.....supposed to help, can't see much change..

The real changes?   ... I feel like I have aged 5 years, over the last few months...
