Base and Rings recommendation
« on: March 06, 2004, 10:05:12 AM »
First off.....great site and quality info!
This is my first post.  I recently purchased a Knight Elite .50 and a Sightronics II 3-9 42 scope.  I am now in search of bases and rings.  Are the Weaver Grand Slams a good choice?  Any other recommendations or opinions?  Do you think that the mid height rings will work or will I have to go to the "high" category to clear the barrel?

I have the 220 (.40) and the 300 (.44) Dead Centers to try out as soon as I get this scope mounted.

Thanks in advance!

Randy

Weaver Grand Slam steel (or Warne steel) bases and Warne Maxima medium height rings will do the trick-- I've used them both.

The Grand Slam bases are a bit higher; I've used them with 44mm objective scopes / medium Warnes with no problems.

It wouldn't surprise me if the 220grn .40cal DeadCenter ends up
being your favorite bullet. I love that bullet. Works really great on deer
also.
