A message that read "Staff quit! Y'all be easy" was posted on the door of the Family Dollar store in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as the former manager claimed the company was "very hard to work for."

Y'all be easy," was posted at a Family Dollar store after its employees walked out.
Dodi Byrne, a resident of Pittsburgh's Garfield neighborhood, spotted the sign on Tuesday, according to a KDKA 2 CBS Pittsburgh report. Byrne told the media outlet: "It's been kind of shaky where it's hit or miss if they're going to be open when you come over because they'll say they don't have enough staffing."

The former manager of the Family Dollar store, Heather Berry, was one of the two employees who quit. She told KDKA 2 CBS Pittsburgh that the district manager expected her to work 105 hours a week as the store was understaffed.

When a storm hit Pittsburgh, the store lost power, but Berry was told to "hold tight until the power came back on," which it didn't until noon the following day. Berry said the temperature in the store reached about 102 degrees.

The manager was intending to wait out her two weeks' notice, but decided she couldn't take it anymore and quit, along with the store's only other employee. Berry said: "This company is very hard to work for."

Family Dollar told KDKA 2 CBS Pittsburgh in a statement: "Our Garfield neighborhood store is open for business. We are not able to comment on the employment actions or status of individuals out of respect for their privacy."

Family Dollar is far from the only business closing stores unexpectedly due to staffing issues.

There have been reports of similar "no staff" signs popping up at restaurants across the U.S. over the past few months.

Paper Signs Taped to Restaurant Windows
In May, Devita Davidson shared a collection of signs on restaurant windows on Twitter and said: "We're literally watching the largest labor movement in modern American history happen in the form of paper signs taped to the windows of fast-food and fast-casual restaurants!"

Signs on restaurants including Hardee's, Wendy's and Chipotle said that they were closed due to having no staff. One sign on a Hardee's window said: "Due to no staff, we are closed. We are hiring," while a Wendy's sign said: "We all quit!! Closed!!"

On Monday, a photo was circulating of a sign that read "We are closed because I am quitting and I hate this job," which was posted at a McDonald's drive-thru.

In response to the viral Twitter post, social media users shared similar signs they had spotted locally. Restaurants, including some McDonald's outlets, have reported struggling to hire enough staff in recent months.

Powderman...this is "one of those posts" (that has been discussed here) that needs to be "cleaned up" while it is being posted.

As posted, cut & paste without cleanup from the linked source, it is difficult to impossible to "read through" the extraneous stuff and stay in context.

Here are a few lines of extraneous content that shoots this post in its disjointed foot:

I REALLY like the sentiment expressed.  In these times of crony corporations, peeing on "the little people" gets a LOT of attention.

Still, it would be a MUCH better post if you would clean it up a bit.  Is that asking too much?

Perhaps just posting the link would have made it easier to read, since the divisions would have been clearer..

One thing clear..by refusing to work, entry level workers are killing their own jobs, and illegals will be grabbing what's left.
"They have the guns and therefore we are for peace and for reformation through the ballot. When we have the guns, then it will be through the bullet"      (Saul Alinsky) ...hero of the left..

One of the big problems I see today
is the practice of management having
employees to complete every task in
a business ceiling to floor, front to
back and still expecting them to
efficiently complete the job they
were hired on to do.
Probably the best example of this
would be having cashiers at the
back of the store stocking shelves
while customers are waiting in an
ever growing line to be checked out.
Then they get blessed out because
there's a half empty box of whatever
in aisle 43 that Suzy was stocking
before she got paged to come back
up front to help out with the backlog
of waiting customers.
The proper way is to have stockers
that only stock shelves and cashiers
that only check out customers and
not what we used to call the " everybody
does everything all the time "
You only end up with a bunch of half
completed tasks and those done in
a half assed manner.
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

The ones here only have 3 people working at the
time.  That would be alright if they had a full time
stocker. The closest store is where all the black
kids go to steal their candy.  They used to snatch
and grab, but now they just calmly divide a bag
and eat it there and throw the wrappers in the
floor and make their choices to carry away and
calmly walk out the door with whatever they want

The Aldi’s here have a security guard in the project areas. I see these stores closing as there are better areas that are selling Aldi’s products. That’s where I go as I don’t want to deal with the turds...looks like it’s back to the country store and an old man with a shotgun and high prices for the necromancers...

The candy/ shelves are thoughtfully placed
about 7 steps from the door here.
The few times there's a security guard,
he's so busy sitting near one of the girl
cashiers, and diddling with his phone,
a person could wheel in a pallet jack
and make a nice one shot haul

You have NO CLUE how much cleaning I do to a heck of a lot of these posts. Would you prefer just a link?? I can do that. CHARLIE.  :( :(

No.  Not "just a link".  It is recommended to read what you post and edit out what makes no sense.

There is a list of CLUES with regard to extraneous and out of context material that remains in this OP to make it obvious to even the most casual observer that NO cleaning was done.
