Why is it used? ....I know, dumb question, but I am new to reloading. so new I dont yet reload
I am about to embark upon the purchase of equipment. for reloading a 45-70 and a .223
thanks for any education you can give !

It is used during the sizing process to keep a case from getting stuck in a die.
