Legalizing drugs...a boondoggle,,,
« on: June 30, 2021, 02:57:46 AM »
.
So Gov Newsom gets drugs legalized..that creates more problems than it solves.  The "war on drugs" still goes on, perhaps more stridently than ever....

The government idea of marketing drugs...and taxing them, has backfired.  Now that addicts are not hesitant to'puff in public', they evidently use more, but don't want to pay the high government taxes.

So, the cartels are at war with illegal growers..slaughter happening.....

  https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/2021/06/new-social-justice-war-drugs-bigger-ever-daniel-greenfield/

Since the war OVER drugs has reached a new height, the brilliant governor is pulling resources from important tasks..to fight the lawbreakers..that is, the cartels and illegal growers.

  From the article;

"Governor Newsom had kicked things off with an address announcing that he was pulling the California National Guard from fighting what he described as President Trump’s “manufactured crisis” on the border to “refocus on the real threats facing our state”, like “illegal cannabis farms"

The "war on drugs" hasn't ended..it has only changed it's "theater of operations".

I just heard somewhere that 90% of the heroin crosses the southern border.  Drug war my ass. over the decades the federal government has spent billions on the so called drug war, and its as bad as its ever been.  They want drugs pouring into this country. It keeps a large populace ignorant, stupid, and voting for the Marxist regime.

You think the old war on drugs was bad... some even even called for it's abandonment.

Well, by throwing open the border, the Biden admin. has for all practical purposes, called off the old war on drugs.

So, here is the result !

Of course, all others, such as heroine, meth cocaine are all up commensurately..

No doubt I'll get flamed for my opinion but I consider the the war on drugs an abject failure that is no different than what prohibition was. We still have organized crime from that era and now have foreign cartels empowered by the same thought process. Billions of dollars have been spent on this and it's never been controlled or resolved and in the process our prison populations have escalated to the point over the decades that an entire industry has been created as a result.

I don't now and never have used any drugs other than an occasional cold beer after a long day of working outside in the heat. The issue is fairly involved with a lot of angles from different perspectives but the simple truth comes down to letting the idiots winnow themselves out of society and fingers crossed they manage to do that before they pass on their idiocy onto their progeny.

There's lots of people ( in my
area anyway) that make excuses
and enable drug and alcohol abuse
and the accompanying problems
that are a part of drug and alcohol
abuse.
If not for that intervention, they'd
be stacked up like cordwood for
the first year or so.  Drastically
dwindling in number every year
after that

i was in on that war on drugs and it didnt fail because it was an impossible task. it failed because of politics and corruption. We put up with same hands off crap the border partol has today. We used to laugh at how easy it would be to desimate the drug production. But we would be told flat out to leave some operations alone EVEN if they shot at us. Shot at us by guns we provided!! Add to that were are led today by a idiot that puts the red carpet out to them and half the population that wants to legalize drugs and doesnt give a rip whether your kid dies from an od. Bottom line is the socialists in charge right now want you to be unarmed, reliant on them to even eat and would prefer you drugged up and if had there way would mandate you eat a purple pill every morning.

I don't doubt you when you say you have never used the stuff, but look at it this way.

Sure, some poor souls still get hooked in spite of the war on drugs, but where would we be if we never fought against those who would fill our kids with their poison?

As a point for consideration; the Biden administration HAS abandoned the war on drugs, so far as the border is concerned.
So, what is the result?  ...A 233% rise in fentanyl coming into the country... and those are just the ones they have CAUGHT!  Dope smugglers are taking advantage of the Border cops being kept busy with processing  regular illegals and  babysitting at the shelters!

There are many, such as the neighbor's
grandchildren that enjoy and want to get
high, and don't want intervention
or rehabilitation. Grandma still denies that
the "kids " are bad people and continues to
dole out the money and supply clothing and
food and cash and a bed.
Meanwhile, the dopeheads continue to steal
and endanger others running around high, and
just all around put a drain on society

This isn't an isolated incident.
This is multiplied by millions.
Happens a whole lot in " peaceful "
idyllic communities from one coast
to the other

Problem is..........There has never been a war on drugs. It's a..... use drugs for creating another bureaucracy that doesn't do anything but create more Government. Drugs and people crossing the border could be stopped, but it's obvious they don't want to do that.

PRECISELY !!   It is clear that for some reason, the feds have not taken the 'war on drugs', seriously..

Many millions of dollars raised..but no real war..  Rather like when Obama first entered office, set aside nearly a trillion dollars for "infrastructure".  We got no big advances in infrastructure..but the money seems to be gone...Hmmmmm.

Thrown down a "rat hole", perhaps?

They had a bigger war on tobacco, than they ever had on drugs..  Philip morris and RJ Reynolds were made to look like bigger criminals than "El Chapo" Guzman.

We had TV ads showing the many deleterious effects of smoking Tobacco, of which there are plenty.  Cigarettes were torn apart, analyzed down to the last molecule, in order to detect any possible harmful chemical.

When did the government do that with marijuana, especially the hyper-pot of today? From what I understand, that has not been done and regular users don't even know..or apparently care, what is in the stuff.

Where are the TV ads, showing the snaggle teeth and the scabby faces of habitual meth users?

Where are the pointed commercials, showing the lives of once prosperous social and business leaders, now homeless, flea bitten, hungry and lying in the filthy streets of the homeless compounds, due to cocaine, heroine or crack ?
...And where are the millions of dollars, supposedly thrown at the "war on drugs"?

looks like the proverbial "rat hole" is about to swallow the whole country..

they ignore it ironglow because if they admitted it was a problem (just like the border) theyd have to spend some of there speicial interest money that goes to the arts and museums and repaving the road by there house. What boggles my mind is there pushing electric cars on a power grid thats falling down and could use every single penny of that covide budget and more to get up to the point it could handle 2 electric cars in every driveway. But they dont want to do that because then theyd have to address power production and they know that its right there there green energy goes right out the door (or up the stack)  Drugs. What a good one. Theres a local guy here that got busted once for making meth. Spent a couple months in jail. today hes getting social security disability for ptsd and never served a minute in the service. They give he anti depressant drugs and hes so wacked out most days he can barely talk. Only jobs he ever had were working as a laborer for local carpenters and even then hed work a week or two till he got paid and disappear on a bender. He doesnt even have to BUY his drugs today. Gets medicade which is hands down the best health insurance in the country. You dont pay for anything!! Id bet my new house he voted for biden!!!!
