. . but I did spend a few hours at the range. It was uncrowded, just the way I like it.

The last few times I've been to
a public range most everyone was
behaving as if they were preparing
to play parts in a seal team action
movie. ARs with every conceivable
gadget and wearing tactical vests
with a myriad of pouches, etc.
Not that I let any of it get to me,
but if it were me, I'd work on consistent
accuracy before I'd worry about how
fast I could empty and change a
magazine. If you want to play a
role and shoot, have at it
