what a cluster
« on: July 12, 2021, 12:58:02 AM »
what a mess. I was scheduled for a hip replacement tomorrow. Every thing was fine and last night i had a siezure. Had one about 4 years ago and i take meds and it seemed to be fine. Now this. I hope the doc still will do it. Kind of screws me if he wont. Crop damage deer shooting is coming next month and this was the only window to be up and running by them. then add to it its going to meaning no driving for 6 months to a year so the buddy is going to have to drive everyday and regular deer season is about toast. Timing couldnt be any worse.

I wish you well Lloyd. Deer season is every year, life is every day. Take care of Lloyd first. You have plenty of deer seasons ahead of you.  ;)

My BIL got as far as getting wheeled
down the hall to get a new knee, and
when they saw how bad of a shape
his ankle was, they wheeled him right
back out of the OR and back to his
room and told him to get dressed and
go home
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

well they did the surgery. Said the drugs they use for anistisiology (spelling) actually help prevent seizures. Operation went fine. Its no fun this morning though. Dont remember discomfort like this with the other one but The last one they kept me in the hospital drugged up for day and a half. This on i was out 2 hours after the surgery. Dont know what id do without a wife!! Its near impossible right now to get out of a chair by my self and up onto a walker.

I also have a total ankle replacement so there is hope for him. Tell him to RUN for ankle fusion though. that foot not moving will eventually work on your knee hip and even your other leg do to a poor gait. But be forewarned. I pissing and moaning about this hip like a big baby this morning. A ankle replacement is AT LEAST 5 times worse.

yup i hope we do it. Every year we worry that they will tell us were not needed anymore. They have 3 boys that are about old enough but i really dont think that after working in the fields all the time and school they have much ambition to do this too. But if nothing else my body is about worn out and my partner is worse. He lives with a fentanyl patch 24/7 along with other narcotics and is beyond being fixed by surgery so im sure one of these day hes going to stop.

Here is wishing you a speedy recovery and good hunting, Lloyd. You are welcome to the artificial joints though. Hope I never have a need for one.
