:D No, but I have used his free downloadable instructions to do an Encore trigger job and smooth up the action. Have also used his Encore springs and a couple of his oversized hinge pins. No complaints from me, as all have improved the condition of the frames as to when they were new out of the box.

I had a brand new VV Encore barrel chambered by Mike to his 30 Bellm.  It took forever to get the barrel back from him (in his defense he had a lot of family illness to deal with).  The barrel never gave me the accuracy I expected and I sold it off.   I don't think I'll ever order anything from him again.

Don't think he's doing much gun work lately but he has DW working thru him. Interesting cartridge theories and designs. His loading techniques for breakopen guns are the best I've ever used.

He's done work for me, and I have been real happy....and like him personally too.

As said though, I don't know how much work he is taking these days.

I don't think he's doing any custom stuff right now

I just emailed him asking about a rechamber, and he replied that he wasn't taking on any custom jobs right now, and referred me to David White for the work.

He has a very close member of the family that is very ill and is taking most if not all of his time taking care of them.

Family comes first.

I'm going to be getting a barrel that he chambered (not recently chambered) in the near future.  It will be the first Contender barrel I have worked with in 16 years.  Talk about a dry spell...
I have had barrels from TC, JD, Bullberry, and soon *****.
Barrels from JD had both good a bad experiences and Fred's barel was a constant problem (they both always took care of their problems).  My 2-TC barrels never gave me a problem and had good accuracy.  Time will tell how this ***** barrel works out.

Never again here. 6 week job turned into 9 months. It is his way or the highway. Complain and he will turn on you. Many should feel fortunate that he no longer excepts nothing but quick kill work like tigger jobs.
