The far left really wants to get rid of cars altogether, electric or gas. They want mass transit, high speed trains, etc. They want 99% of the people living in big cities and "save" the countryside for forests and farmland. They are highly against suburbs and small towns because this causes "white flight" out of the cities.
I had a leftist niece come to visit from NYC and she wanted to know what we had for public transit. We do have a couple of buses that take elderly who qualify, to the doctor or to various stores like Wal-mart and Sam's for their needs. I told her about 50% of the people here go to church and churches provide services for their members, such as pick them up to come to church on Sundays' and volunteers help them during the week. We didn't need government to do it. Also, she asked how do the poor get around. I said they buy a used car. She said what about the homeless. I said we don't have any. Anyone on the street is taken to the mens or womens shelters again, operated by the evangelical churches. They help them get over any addictions and help them get jobs or be put back with their families. They lead them to Christ so they can have their lives changed.
We took her to a big lake with our boat. We went swimming, a fish touched her leg and she never got back in the water. Also, we had just sod Emeral Zoyzia grass and would walk barefooted on it. She saw a bug and wouldn't take her shoes off.
They have no clue how rural Americans live and how much freedom we have not having too much government and too many giveaway programs.
