told the wife to pick up something on the way home from work. We dont have alot of choices here. For fast food its hardys or subway. Hardys closed at 3. Sign said because they cant get workers. She went to subway and they were out of bread and even stuff to make wraps.

Sign on drive through at taco bell yesterday. Be kind to our workers, ALL new crew, help badly needed. Another one at DQ a week ago, be patient, I'm by myself. All that XTRA benefits of $300 a week was more than I took home from WM full time, usually closer to $200. . The xtra is being done away with. CHARLIE.

Everything open here but almost all have help wanted signs out. Doesn't appear to be a worker shortage but a wage shortage. Capitalism. supply and demand should apply, correct?

Hardees in my home town closed permanently for lack of help.

So far Minn. is not acting like paranoid liberal states probably because Gov. Klink knows his chance of being re-elected is getting close to zero every time he flatulates another left-wing idea.

At the Chinese quick food joint in my home town, even during the height of the virus scare, the employees, probably all family did not wear masks or ask customers to do so, they are doing land office business.

I have cut back dramatically on my stops at FF places..Just too costly for what it is worth.

Quite often, I and my son or perhaps one of my grandsons or grandaughter along with us, will stop at a small, but very neat, clean and friendly, small, local coffee shop.

Jodie, the waitress is a very congenial and nice lady.. She knows my coffee, sandwiches etc., just as she knows about 90% of the customers, who are regulars.

Great food..and not more expensive than what many fast food places are! Besides, too many fast foods are into the "woke" crap !

I really think that if businesses of all kinds offered REAL jobs, 40 hrs a week, etc, instead of this 4-5hr a day part time crap, jobs would be taken quickly by decent people. That's a hobby, not a real job, can't feed a family on that. WM stopped hiring full time a long time ago when I was still there. Then they cut all the full timers hours, they got to where they considered full time to be 32 hrs a week, then cut that to 28. Nasty people to work for. My health forced me to retire, or I'd of kept working instead of quitting.

In your case that's most likely true. As a failed farmer, you complained that your farm welfare check wasn't worth getting under Trump. But you took it. All the while bragging about your government funded solar panels for your house, posting pictures of your "private lake" ect, ect.

Somebody's efforts in capitalism worked for you to most likely inherit all that.

Now your reaping the advantages of capitalism, selling out somebody elses efforts, and moving in to the mountains. Lookin the gift horse in the mouth, and cussin free enterprise all the whole way.

Somebody adopted you, raised you, and obviously spoiled you. A shameful lack of respect, and gratitude. Settin on somebody else's fence post crowing like your the one that set it.

sign on the hardys in town says help wanted 3 dollars an hour OVER minimum wage and they cant find people. My Nephew is a contractor. Does mostly cement work (hard work) He cant get workers at 25 dollars an hour starting pay. Put an add out 6 months ago and had one person call him and when he explained what he would be doing (pushing a wheelbarrow, shoveling ect) the guy hung up on him. There is no wage shortage theres a shortage in people that would rather earn a fair living then have it handed to them sitting on there ass.

We went to a doctor appointment yesterday. Had to stop at tractor supply. Its right in with a big bunch of businesses. EVERY ONE OF THEM HAD HELP WANTED signs out front. There on a corner going out onto the highway was a 20 some year old girl dressed like a hippy with a sign that said. ON THE ROAD NO HOME. She was holding a can pandering for money. If she would have walked a 100 yards she could have had at least 5 jobs. I know that is common in some places but ive NEVER seen it here. One person in a prius (figures) was ahead of us and gave her money. I about exploded. Rolled down my window and in not a nice voice told here. CANT YOU SEE THE F ING HELP WANTED SIGNS!! GO GET A JOB!! She flipped me off. If it would have been a man id have probably been in jail this morning. My best friends 22 year old daughter went to the orthopedic doctor for a follow up on her broken arm. She causualy mentioned she had a year in nursing school. The doctor asked here if she wanted a job as an assistant. He offered her 20 bucks an hour, medical insurance and said if she worked 6 months hed pay her next years tuition. He said he would pay here entire college bill for nursing school as long as she stayed there and would give her raises every year. At the end of college she had no obligation to stay with him. He said if she was willing to sign a contract and give him 4 years at the same rate the RNS at the hospital localy made he would pay for her to go back and get a degree as a PA or NP. She was blown away. He told her that offer had been made to others and nobody would take him up on it. Seems he cant get nurses or Pa's period. There is NO LACK OF WAGES. Just lack of work ethic and values. Lazy people LOVE socialism. No lack of people playing the system. Couple cows and horses and call yourself a farm (hobby farm) and get free stuff from the goverment that takes away from the real farmers that need it. In what sane world do the taxpayers owe you solar panels?? You are part of the infection that is festering in this country.

had to chuckle. An hour after i posted that last one im watching fox news and they say walmart is offering to pay complete tuition to ANY college in ANY program for any empolyee. You can work at walmart and get med or law school paid for free. Even at a prestigious university. Ya guzzi there just not being generous enough to employees today.

There was a day in history, when unions were a positive move.. e.g. coal mining, and other virtual slave working operations of the past, come to mind.
Since then, the unions have come to have too much influence, and have moved to take on far more authority than they should be entitled to, especially since one of the 2 "parties' have taken up their cause, while trying to crush the free worker (merit earner) cause.

Why is it, whenever Joe Bumbles talks of developing new jobs..of which he has no concept, he always qualifies jobs as, "good, union jobs?" Why must all jobs be union jobs? Why is that a necessary qualification?

Consider your teacher's unions.. They have for years, played the old shibboleth... " it's for the children!" !

SPARE US! The shenanigans the teachers have dragged public schools through for the last school year, has PROVEN, they don't give two toots "for the children"! They are only USING the students..as bargaining chips for their advantage.

We all have witnessed those teachers posting an hours worth of assignments from the Cancun or the Bahamas !

Charter schools have proven their worth, especially in underprivileged neighborhoods. In many cases,
Christian schools are regularly producing better scholars than many public schools.

So, where are the teacher's unions! Are they speaking "for the children"...or are they fighting against these few opportunities some deprived children may benefit from, to lift them up another rung on the social ladder?

Why do they fight the voucher system, when it is exactly vehicle many needy families would use to obtain a better education "for their children"? For parents who pay property taxes, yet cannot access them for their children's education, some form of tyranny.."taxation without representation" !

Honest competition improves everything! If the teacher's unions are concerned "for the children", why don't they take the challenge and allow vouchers, showing how they can HONESTLY compete and finish a more competent and complete education?

The whole idea of a union especially for teachers, as opposed to free workers... is antithetical to a better education. Promotion under a union, is based upon 'seniority', rather than capability or competence. Thus as we have seen, some of the more incompetent can rise to more authority than a better qualified person of less seniority.

Unionized teachers have been a disaster for schools in the US..which may be exactly why American schools have slid so far down the scholastic scale in recent years, when compared to others around the world.

It appears that American teacher's unions are not doing as well as some emerging nations, such as Cambodia, Ghana and Nigeria..

Hmmmm...I don't see where the unions are doing such a great job of regulating themselves either... It sure doesn't look like the union is regulating their teachers who want to draw a paycheck, sit on their donkeys in the Bahamas and skype 30 minutes of class a couple days a week !

I should hope you are not one of those teachers who think the regulation of socialism or communism is a better alternative !

Yo are correct in that both of those failed ideologies "regulate". They regulate right down to the last detail of your life.. how much you will eat (not enough), how much pay you will get (not enough), where you will go to church (not), where you can travel (when permitted), a single party choice in election (only one)........... and overall strict CONTROL of your life (for as long as it lasts).

CONTROL, CONTROL, CONTROL .... the hallmark of any socialist/communist system.

You don't need my explanation, just look at Venezuela, Cuba, the old Soviet Union or North Korea !

The lack of a work ethic has been around for decades as far as the snot faced punk population goes.

Thirty years ago I was working a part time job, I looked a lot younger than I was then and the dude who was in charge was amazed that I got all he wanted done in such a short time.
He said most of the young college student piss and moan and take a whole day to do two hours of work.

I had another similar reaction at a part time another job when I was partnered with a boy who was joining the Army; the foreman was again amazed at how quickly we put up the metal racking by ourselves, most part timers were useless at teats on a boar, and said if either of us wanted a full time job we had one.

It has just gotten worse.

Now; let's rack our memories a bit...I don't know about Walmart, but many regular jobs, such as building supplies, hardwares, plant nurseries and many others..had good 40 hour jobs..

Then Barack Hussein brought out his medical plan travesty. Costs were so high, such businesses couldn't meet them..

However, Obamacare had a clause saying that 40 hour jobs must provide that costly insurance...so those businesses had to cut the hours for employees....below 40 hours.

Just like China Joe and Cackles paying people not to work...then wonder why so many "help wanted" signs are up ! DUH !

ya iron glow. He wants US to pay more in taxes and cost of living and id bet he hasnt hired any help on the farm and paid them 30 bucks an hour for there time. Probably calls that garden a farm to get around paying property taxe write offs on it too. Typical liberal. Hes all for everyone but him footing the bill. No different the the hypocracy of him comming here talking guns when he uses his vote to take away our second amendment rights. All about the fight for gun rights right up till its time to actually take responsibility for his part of the fight. Same with the miltary.
