I still shoot, but ammo and reloading supply's are getting scarce. And expensive when you do find it.

Did some shooting yesterday. Still compete in Bullseye matches. Shot a national match course. Not so good. My back makes standing still a real effort. Only a 244/300. About 30 points down from normal. The good news is that the reloads worked even if I did not. Love that 1911

If I can I'll lad some 45-70's for some sight in tomorrow. Got a Miroko Win 86 light that's needing some warming up. Prolly a handgun also.

Shot an indoor air pistol match last week, score was down but at least I got out and did it. It's prolly been about 8 years from the last one, enjoyed the shoot and the folks hanging afterwards. Do need to work at once what seemed to come naturally.
Hold still while I overthink this.

Well, I have been doing some hunting, I've been letting 6 to 8 doe's and small bucks go by each day, but I didn't let these two go by,

I shot the above one the second day, and this one a few days later,

I still have a doe tag, not sure if I will fill it or not...

I was busy Thursday  ;D, it rained all day yesterday, and it is cool today. Supposed to be a very nice day tomorrow and I am planning on sighting in three guns that I have done some sight switching on.

couple nice bucks there!! I havent even got into the woods this season. still recovering from surgery. It screwed up crop damage shooting this year too. First year since the early 80s i havent shot a deer of any kind. I still have venison from last year though. i usually give it all away when we start crop damage shooting to make room for more but wisely held on to it this year.

Not like I used to shoot. My youngest grandson Wyatt, now 14 shoots more than me. I go up to my range with him and sometimes shoot with him.

I often post of our shooting outings but it seems to generate next to no interest. I've seen no replies at all to the last post I made so I've not even bothered to post about the last couple of times we shot.

Seems all folks here now want to talk about is politics and that and the PBSF are the only forums it seems folks read anymore.

Yep! Illustrates the condition of our once great country. I took my 6 yr old G Grandson out for a woods walk and shoot yesterday. He carried his Daisy Red Rider , And I only had my side arm on. He told me to get behind him if we saw a bear or cougar, because his gun was bigger than mine. I wish I could spend more time with him in the woods, but my heart, legs and lungs are shot. The golden years :o

I've gone to the range a couple a times this week.  Wednesday I'm going back out to sight in my little Browning Buckmark. I took the rear sight off, replaced it with a pictinney and red dot.

I got out shooting on Saturday. It was chilly but I wanted to try out my new-old rifle. A Winchester 1885 low wall. It was built in the early 1890's and is chambered in 25-21 Stevens.  I can't believe it but Walmart was out of ammo for it ::). I only had 8 pieces of brass but all the reloads formed a nice tight group at 50 yards.

I have a friend that lets me use his 1,000 yard range whenever I want. I don't get out as much as I'd like but managed
my version of a three gun shoot recently. I took three Ruger #1s, 1B 30-06, 1S 45-70 and a 1V 223. I shoot the 50 yard section, targets and a gong. All three were as accurate as I remembered, probably the last time for the 1B and 1S, retina issues and old age. I have been thinking about having them rebarreled in something milder, don't know if I want to do that. Keep shooting and have a safe and blessed CHRISTmas!

I haven't pulled a trigger in almost two weeks. Honey-do's and the wind  took care of that. I am planning a range trip Monday is the weather forecast holds. I have been tinkering with the sights on a couple of pistols and need to get them sighted in. Red dot on one and day-glos on the other.

Well that looks like a mighty fine drilling.
I’ve never even seen one in the flesh, so how much does one weigh??
It just doesn’t looks graceful like your bolt actions especially the 22s.

7 pounds, so it's pretty nice to carry...

I've put a lot of meat in my freezer with it, from ducks, grouse and pheasant to turkey... For big game, I started with a big bull moose, also bear and black and white tail deer ect...

I've been hunting with it since the early 80's...

my new upper , UPR 10 708 , is on its way back to me . had it, shot it ,sent it back . to me it had a headspace problem as the bolt closed harder than it should have using factory ammo . of course  they said it was right . i then said check the bolt face . thats when they discovered the bolt was out of spec. a rotten time of year to send any thing by UPS

I just bought an air rifle to set up a target range in the house.
The dining room table will be the bench and the target stand will be in front of the TV in the living room.

I'll go down to the woods to sight it in, then suspend a heavy carpet sample (carpets by Leon) on the stand with the targets in front of it.

On Nov. 28 I posted I was going to the range on the 29th to sight in three pistols. I didn't make it there until today due to just one thing after another. It was a beautiful day today and I got them sighted in. Not many there, no one bothered me, and I had an enjoyable outing.

I always though retirement being able to go do what you wanted when you wanted. Then I retired and found how it really works.
