Started letting my boy shoot a 22lr when he was 5.  Wasn't long after that he asked to shoot an ar15.  Set him up prone with a scope and bipod on the rifle.  He shot a couple mags at an old metal tank before switching back to the 22lr.  It sounds more like this guy is trying to show his "wokeness" more than anything.
