Sadly Another great has passed
« on: August 25, 2021, 04:48:15 AM »
We have lost another great, Don Everly of the Everly brothers passed away in Nashville on the 21st of August. The song I liked most was Wake up little Susie. At this rate we are not going to have many greats left.https://youtu.be/iTseFBze0NM

Amen.

It seems, to me, that when I was young/er, entertainers/musicians, lived on and on and on but I am starting to realize that , that state of mind is partly because when I was young the mode of living from their youth to mind had changed DRASTICALLY, I.E., the twenties and thirties were drastically different from the era I was growing up in.  So to me for them to live through that drastic change, made them seem like the old dudes from the Bible that lived on and on and on.

I will admit that when I was young/er, in my head, it did not occur to me that the new breed of musician were all pretty close to my age, some younger some older.
That reality has finally slapped my obtuse view of life along side of the head, really sucks the bag as was said when I was young/er. :o 8)

When I look at their age, most in their late seventy's or early eighties, I think wow but then I think that is where I am Late eighties. Not much to look forward too.

I believe someone had a song with the question "who's gonna fill their shoes?"

To me there's nobody with the talent to replace all the greats who are dying off.
Give me liberty, or give me death

Who's going to fill their shoes was a George Jones song but then he is also gone.
