In most cases they have been told for MONTHS TO GET OUT, but they REFUSED for reasons known only to them. 13 of our brave men died needlessly because they stayed to protect them, they could have been home with their family. Shame on them. From what I've read most left there hold dual citizenship, American and afgh, that might buy em some time, dunno.
If I'm wrong, Tell me, but this is how I feel. CHARLIE.

  There is an SOP for such evacuations, and if a C-in-C doesn't know it..it is easily available in FMs and TMs.

  I see Biden as a man in rapid mental decline.  Such a man could normally turn to his Secretary of defense or his chairman of the joint chiefs.

  But for a man who is "lost in the woods"..what does he do..who does he turn to?  His handlers handlers have not advanced military commanders who are cut in the jib..like Gen. Schwartzkopf, or Gen. Tommy Franks.

   Instead, they have obviously installed politicians, some still in military uniforms.  Had he someone like Schwartzkopf,  Franks or Petraeus behind him..he could simply say.."That's your field..please handle it for me."

     There are all kinds of reasons why some civilians are slower to leave than others.. Missionaries or liasions could leave early, but there are medical personnel and others, who must be late to leave .

  MULE!  You served years enlisted..Suppose you were in command of an outpost and you were ordered to take care of the men, equipment and weapons..how would you handle it?  Please explain to those who wonder.

   As I see it there is no real excuse for Biden's handling of the situation, other than mental breakdown..

Beside that statement. I would evacuate civilians and unnecessary personnel along with all equipment at whatever pace worked leaving a strong military force and slowly retreat but if being dogged or followed (which I would expect). would kill with extreme prejudice. I would utilize combined force of all our military might to rain fire on the enemy’s heads if they did not honor our backing out and would not tie the hands of our military and let them have a field day on those who would attempt to attack or harass. make sure that the national force fighting were able to sustain a buffer from there enemy’s and leave a force to help until they could handle them on there own with a contingency of special forces in reserve that I would send out in overkill to bloody there noses and keep them at bay. What I would not do is take bribes and payoffs or grab my ankles. I could go on.

  BINGO!!!!!!   Just about verbatim to the way I would have done it...and coincidentally, the way Pres Trump said he would have done it..and was preparing to do.

  Here, both Mule and I served as enlisted..and knew almost automatically how to do it.  How could the president and all those brass hats have missed the simple formula ?

  As to civilians in country..  How much warning did they get?  In some remote areas, it would take weeks to travel to Kabul . 

  Everything from missions, to medical, technical advisers, construction workers.. etc... Who knows how much warning they had...not very much it seems.

   Besides, how do we know but what some did travel to Bagram...only to find the post deserted.  If anyone could expect ANY post to be the final departure point..Bagram would have likely have been the obvious choice.

powderman that "they dont want to leave" and the "dual citizenship" crap is just the liberal spin doctors trying to twist the truth into something that takes the heat off of biden. there were 100s left behind that wanted to get out and over a 1000 afghan allys of ours that fought along side our men that wanted out. They were all sacrificed by stupid decisions biden made and an ego so big he wouldnt back down and admit his plan was flawed. If ONE MAN WOMEN OR CHILD that was american and wanted out was left behind it is unacceptable. Not only dont we as americans abandon civilians in a war zone but now we just gave biden a reason for another trillion dollar spending bill. It will be needed to pay ransom on those hostages because the fact is thats just what they are. He left vehicles and weapons behind to arm them and now is going to pay for there new army and maybe even pay for a nuke or two that they could buy from russia or china as long as they promise to use it on us. This isnt about the ones that wanted to stay. Im sure theres a handful of those idiots. This is about the ones WE KNOW were turned away by the taliban or were afraid to leave there homes because they knew they were targets. This was the biggest military blunder of all time. .

Well hind sight is 2020 as always, but if you don't do the right thing in the first place, and leave your mess for someone else to clean up, you always run the risk of some dolt screwin things up.

Yes, Hiden Biden screwed this whole thing up, and got some good men, and women killed.

Almost 3,000 American military have died since George W Bush sent troops in to wipe out terrorist training camps. And an estimated 45,000 plus civilians.
Bush had said his only intention was to kill the terrorists then get out.

That was accomplished in about 19 months.

Then neocon George W Bush changed his mind, and turned it into the longest running war in American history, with thousands upon thousands of people killed.
If George W Bush (a Republican) had kept his word, there wouldn't have been a Hiden Biden debacle.
And America just watched.

Everyone is comparing Hiden Bidens folly in Afghanistan, to the fall, and failure of Saigon.
But the tragedy wasn't the fall of Saigon.
The 58,000 soldiers killed, and the 304,000 wounded were the tragedy.
