Have you all come across any "budget" rifles that have proven to be super shooters?

Perhaps the Knight Wolverine is mentioned most often, with American Knights shooting just as well (n/a trigger, cheaper stock / sights).

Some say that the H&R Huntsman is a super shooter.  For around $130 or so you can have one and give it a whirl.  I admit the telescoping ram rod is not for everyday range use but you could purchase a range rod for that duty.  The stock ram rod will work fine in the field.  I have a Huntsman but have yet to really wring it out on the range so I can only pass on what others have said in the past.  Once the weather breaks the Huntsman and me will be going to the range for a couple extended sessions and then I will be better prepared to backup up what others have said.

EASILY the best sleeper rifle I have come across is the Knight Wolverine 209.  If you desire accuracy, reliability, easy cleanup, and a well-made gun, look no further.  The T/C Black Diamond WOULD be on the list IF it had a one-piece breech plug.  The Black Diamond also has a good bit more blow-back than the Wolverine 209.

Have to agree with WNY_Whitetailer, a Huntsman will typically shoot almost anything you try decently and some loads exceptionally.  Nice little rifles.  Not exactly a sleeper rifle, as its reputation is now well known, but a remarkably good rifle for the money.

Hey Matt, you need to reduce the required wait-time between posts.  It's buggin' me!!
