Load for 215 SWC / 41mag
«

I just picked up 500 215gr SWC for my 41 mag. Now I just need a load for them. I would like them to go around 1000fps. I looked through my manuals and didn't come up with anything like that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

7.5 grains of Unique will work.
Six grains of any of the real fast powders, Bullseye, 700X, 231, Red Dot, is a safe load that will give the velocity you want and worth trying.

Ditto to Leftoverdj's recommendations. It just won't get any better than those.

Well I'll have to agree with Leftoverdj also.
With 7.5 gr. of Unique (the old version) in a Winchester case, Remington 2 1/2 primer and a 215 gr. cast bullet, I get 967 fps out of my 4 5/8" barreled Blackhawk.

Bevel base, flat base or gas checked?
The data listed above will be fine for flat base & GC but if they are hard and bevel based (as most commercial cast are) you may have to step them up to avoid leading. Even if they are Hard BB try the loads listed above. If they lead bump them up a bit.
