Pearson's Salted Nut Roll
« on: October 08, 2021, 11:37:01 AM »
Pretty decent candy bar thing from
Dollar Tree.  Pretty good flavor and
texture. Similar to a Payday
Made in Meena-sotah, not messyco
or chynah, so the dollar stays here.
3 ounce bar like all bars used to be
( large size for regular price instead
of downsizing the regular)
Most of the candy I see except for
the more expensive chocolate bars
are made outside of the US

Yep!  ..And those Paydays are pretty good also !  I am not a big candy eater, but my wife sure enjoyed them !

Upon a rare occasion, I would snare one of those..

I like most candy bars except plain chocolate.
I've gotta have fruit or nuts in my chocolate. :)

I don't eat candy very often, but
I want it to be good and taste good
as if I were buying candy in 1950
in the pre yuppie days.
That means real cane sugar and
no stupid stuff

I love candy. I just don’t eat much of it. I do go on a bit of a binge after Halloween.

I buy Halloween candy, but then turn off all lights in the front of the house and keep it all to myself. :)

Never heard of the Pearson's but there isn't a thing wrong with the Payday version although I haven't eaten one in years. About twice a year I will break down and enjoy my very favorite candybar, a Butterfinger. I will indulge in goobers a few times a year and the Spanish or redskin is my favorite. There are a lot of peanuts grown over in Texas and up at Portales, NM, also known as Goober Gulch but they are all Valencia's. Good but not as good as the others.

Pearson's Nut Roll is made sixty miles from my home town; used to drive by the  factory when ever I went to St. Paul.
I grew-up eating them and still do on occasion but I think they were better 40 years ago when the had more salt. (also a see through wrapper so you could see what you were buying.)

Candy  bars I eat most often now, and that is not often, are the pure chocolate ones with high Cocoa content but they are getting very pricey.

Was it Pearsons that made something called "Seven up" candy bar?..Seems it was made of 7 pieces of different candies, all joined together in a chocolate coating.
..Haven't seen one in decades..and for me, they weren't good back then !

dont have to. My wife goes overboard every year buying candy and we live on the end of a road on the outskirts of this tiny town so even before covid we were lucky to see a handful of kids. Last two years we have had none.

Pearson’s Candy discontinued making the Seven Up Bar in 1979. The company got rid of the manufacturing equipment and sold the trademark name to the American Bottling Company, makers of 7-Up soft drink.

I always raid the bowl for a couple pockets full of the premium stuff. Reese’s, snickers, babyruths, etc.

funny/strange
After posting and reading the various
posts about this, the candy has gotten
semi scarce around here.
The hoodrats here usually scarf up the
chocolates, but I guess there's a
peanut candy fan around besides me
