Charges announced for Lt Col Scheller
« on: October 09, 2021, 12:25:27 AM »
.
   The Col has finally learned what they are charging him with.  Here is the explanation by Stars & Stripes;

  https://www.stripes.com/branches/marine_corps/2021-10-06/marine-scheller-charges-court-martial-afghanistan-videos-3148509.html

  Here's from the S&S article;

     " He is accused of violating Uniform Code of Military Justice Article 88 by displaying contempt toward officials, Article 89 by disrespecting superior commissioned officers, Article 90 by willfully disobeying a superior commissioned officer, Article 92 by dereliction in the performance of his duties and failure to obey an order or regulation, and Article 133 by displaying conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman /color]

  As usual, some of the charges seem redundant and an overkill (IMO).

  Compare what he did, in comparison to what the big brass in the Pentagon allowed to happen in Afghanistan..withou even a peep coming from them.

They are children who will get rid of the Colonel rather than answer the charges levied against them by a patriot.

When you join the military you AGREE (swear) to a set of standards outlined in the UCMJ. Officers are held to an even higher standard than enlisted men however both must comply.  The UCMJ includes provisions which run counter too the Constitution, but I guess the Military is exempt.  The Col. COULD have retired or resigned and then said whatever he pleased.  Is any one here for the Military picking and choosing which laws they will obey??  As a senior officer he should be prepared to suffer the consequences for his actions.  I like Herman Cain, he didn't believe in covid vaccines or social distancing and died for his belief!!!!

Does that mean that those that took the vaccine and died, died for their beliefs?

   ..But there is nothing inthe UCMJ that precludes civilians from seeing  something wrong with the process, and addressing the situation.

" ..But there is nothing inthe UCMJ that precludes civilians from seeing  something wrong with the process, and addressing the situation."

That is correct, but he isn't a "civilian" he can not disrespect higher authority as a MILITARY OFFICER.  He needed to retire or resign to become a civilian.

"So as a whistleblower, Scheller may or should have immunity."

He would as a civilian, as discussed above.
