I guess I feel bad for the victims' family. I didn't know her, don't know anything about her politics, and whether she was a patriot to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, or like her murderer.
Alec Baldwin on the other hand is, and has been an enemy to both, and therefore an enemy to just about everything I believe.
They have a good case of "Negligent Homicide", or at the very least, "Involuntary Manslaughter".

But with all the crying by himself, and the rest of Sodom and Gamora/Hollywood, he'll walk away from this with giant sympathy card, and be the spokesman for another anti gun movement.

If that was indeed the case then the shooting would be on film. Keep in mind the director was also shot, by the same shot or a second shot?
On a movie set no shots or munitions are fired without filming.....there's always film running in shooting action scenes and from multiple cameras, for editing later.

This was a rehersal, and the gun was supposed to be "cold", so film would not be rolling.  Entirely too many film industry gun safety rules were broken and standard practices ignored.

Several reports have the normal union staff being replaced just before the shoot. The union was protesting “conditions”. Having to drive 50 miles vrs local hotels as promised.

There’s been at least one instance of a person being shot with a cap and ball revolver during a civil war reenactment.

I agree. He is a full blown anti gun, Hollywood liberal. Nothing will happen to him. His type are above the law.

    My neighbor is a very proficient automotive technician, his daughter knows only how to drive a car. 
  My son is a top rated commercial photographer, his daughter knows very little about photography, nor do I.
   My neighbor has a fleet of Mack trucks, his daughter never drives any of them.

     Knowledge and desire, doesn't enter into a person's cranial cavity by osmosis within the family...

  The video offered by Omega was very instructive, from the movie making point of view.  It sure looks like this should be investigated very closely..

     1) NO REASON  the gun should have been loaded

     2)  "           "      there should have been any live roiunds anywhere near the set

     3)  "          "      the gun wasn't checked by at least 3-4 people including Baldwin..before using

     4)  "          "      Baldwin had to aim the gun directly at the cinematographer

   It seems at the least, there was gross negligence involved, if not worse..

I thinkJohn Scneider in video just above clears up some of the issues...
...the difference between a prop gun and a real gun
...guns, prop or real, are never to be pointed at people
...a rehearsal would not need even a prop gun
...the procedure is that actors get briefed on the guns used in the film, safety, load checking.
....and there is no, if any, call for a loaded real gun on a set; and if there was it would be a take on film.

So, until we get more info, all we know is there's some serious negligence here, and somehow against standard procedures Baldwin was given (or took) a real firearm which he did not check for live ammo, that he pointed at a non-actor, cocked and fired (assuming it was a single action firearm). Of course, there's still the chance this shooting was not accidental!

I reckon if it was any of us on this forum the shooting wouldn't have happened; but if it did we'd be in real hot water.

I don't disagree - except for the "a rehearsal would not need even a prop gun" - which is why I stated there were many safety rules and procedures not followed.  Just pointing out why it wouldn't have been on film.

Time will tell whether there is any video of the incident in question. 
To my knowledge that information has not been released.

What has been released is, that Baldwin was "in costume" and police investigators seized that costume as evidence due to the bloodstains it had on it.

Carelessness, and poor set protocol is obvious, all else would be pure speculation at this point.
I guess we'll get the details when, and if,  they're released.

I seriously doubt we will ever know the true story. It is New Mexico and the government loves the movie industry and will do or say nothing bad against it and, in fact, pay them to film here. They call it a rebate and it is a huge one. Nothing will be allowed to tarnish the movie/TV filing industry here.

I have read several articles where the witnesses stated it was a rehearsal for a scene, which is why the "cold gun" call was (erroneously) made.

I have absolutely no use for Baldwin but he is an actor. Actors do what the director tells them to do using the props supplied to them. I doubt actually checking the gun ever entered his mind. His attention was on remembering his lines and movements, not if his gun was safe as it was supposed to be. Other people handle matters like that, he just does what the script and director tell him to do.

Verifying blank vs ball would be problematic if the anti flashover grease / wax was used but you’d think a “cold gun” would have empty cylinders and no percussion caps.

According to news sources Joel Sousa is the director, not Baldwin. Baldwin and Anjul Nigam are the producers.

It's been reported that prior to the shooting death there were 3 other accidental discharges on the set!  Safety issues were a main complaint of the disgruntled staff.
