Everyone should make a pilgrimage to Bass Pro In Memphis in the big pyramid.
They have a shooting range there, and, everything outdoorsy.

I bought a very nice slingshot there. :)

I heard Bass Pro bought  Cabelas out .   . .

A good while back

A true shame too, because Cowbelly's used to have
really nice hunting clothing and footwear when they
were still Cabelas and still family owned.
Bass Amateur Shop also did away with the Bargain
Cave that Cabelas used to have

What a crying shame.  Oh well.  I probably
won't need anything from them for the rest
of my days. It's a shame for the younger
generations. We ran the local stores out of
business by buying from the whim big stores
like Bass Amateur Shop
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

Exactly it’s our fault. Not supporting local stores.

Cabela's is a pretty good drive over into Texas for me but having a doctor's appointment there about a month ago I went to their store before returning home. They had some 22 LR at a decent price so I took five boxes to the check out counter. The lady asked if I had a Cabela's card to which I replied "no". I found out I could only purchase two boxes since I had no card. My son drove us on the trip and he had a card so he purchased the other three boxes for me. I am of the opinion that Cabela's doesn't really need my small amount of business.

About 10 years ago I bought a 22 rifle for the kids and that was the only reason I got 2 large boxes of ammo. If they did not hold back ammo from hoarders there would not be any for people actually buying guns. Not saying it’s right or wrong. The card thing is kinda pissy though.

Cabelas firearm prices are higher than you generally pay anywhere else.  Lots of overhead, extravagant animal mounts, and aquariums to pay for.

The only one I have ever been to was in Ft.Worth TX. A long time ago and It was nice. I bought some archery supply's and looked at some of they're guns. Prices were about as much as you could expect for a big city.
I got a six point buck later that year during Bow season. All I kept was the horns, and the meat of course.
That was pre BP back then.

The local cabelas started taking a dump shortly after the bp takeover. The reloading section is much smaller as is the selection of stuff to buy.  My boy and I like to go, but since bp is more concerned about fishing there's been lots of times we walk out empty handed.

Cabela's has good sales, that's when I buy...

I like their card too, it cost me NOTHING and I get lots of FREE stuff with my Cabela's points too!

Yeah, Cabelas is my go-to store.  I verify off of them if their prices are in line.  I also have the card so get 10% code every couple of weeks, combine that with the 5% back, sales and free shipping and they are hard to beat.
